waste of money on 3rd party 45 chargers

If your phone is at 5%, you'll soon have other problems, like an expensive battery replacement in 6 months. Phones shouldn't be allowed to drop below 40% if possible (no lower 25% in extreme cases, should something prevent charging right away), and the 45W charger apparently starts slowing down at around 50%. So for those following best practices, there's only a 10% window of full charge rates.

Even if not being strict to those, most people aren't letting their phones nearly die on a regular basis. Not to mention chargers are everywhere, and Li-ion batteries love partial charges. So save your money and stick with the stock charger at home or wherever you may need some speed. Then charge on the way to work, or charge at work. If you know you're going to be somewhere without the ability to charge for a long time, charge it extra ahead of time.

Does the 45W charger have some benefits? Sure. Does it have $50 worth of benefit (plus whatever a compatible cable costs)? Not for the average user. Right now it's mostly for bragging rights.
I guess it just depends on your perspective. I just got a new phone after 6 months. I don't care if my battery is crappy after that period of time cause I'll probably be getting something new. And aren't batteries like 100 bucks? I don't really consider that expensive and I definitely don't consider 50 expensive, especially not for something I'll use often. I'm not an average consumer though, and I doubt most people on this site are. Hell, the only reason I bought the note is the 45w charging.

I haven't priced battery replacements on new phones because I'm still using a phone with a user replaceable battery, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Comparing $100 plus extra down time to something that use to be $15-20 with no more down time than a reboot just a few years ago is very expensive.

Yeah I remember when I said I wasn't going to give up a removable battery. I eventually just let it go. It's more expensive for sure but I don't keep a phone long enough to care about battery degradation. I'm always upgrading.

And that works for you. I'm still running my V20 from 2016, and nothing is really exciting me yet. At least not without several major tradeoffs, like sealed batteries.

I am still using the third party wireless charger I got for my note 3. Put the note 10+ on it last night with a little over 50 percent left and it said 2 hours and 54 minutes for it to be fully charged :-) Might be time to replace it.

Crap. Wasted a bunch of money on 45w chargers and 45w car chargers. They top out at 15w.
I thought there was on article on AC last week saying the current 45 W chargers do not support the Note 10 plus and to wait for the 3rd party ones that list support for the Note 10 plus.

I couldn't do it. Long as I can go without upgrading is a year lol.

Has anyone actually tested the ones in the AC article to see what they actually charge the Note 10+? Are they stuck at 15W or can they get something more?

Are you getting 45W charging with the Aukey?
That's what I bought

But does it actually output 45w to the Note 10+. I'm guessing it doesn't.
No idea.. I used the C to C cable that the note came with. It charges a lot faster than fast charger. Don't have an ampmeter etc. Frankly, i don't really care. Bigger fish to fry lol
