watch espn quality issues

I used to be anice android user then i got an iPhone 6 plus and now I'm back on android after a 5 year hiatus haha. I have the note 5, and noticed immediately on the watch espn app that quality is a fraction of what it was on the iPhone. What gives? the stream is fine it just looks it's 480p and not the crisp HD it was on iPhone.
