Watch .mkv with S4?

can i play .mkv files or .avi files with s4?

Did you check the spec sheet if its prebuilt in? If not I recommend MXplayer. Plays pretty much everything if it isn't originally supported

Those are codecs and the original poster is asking about a container format.

As an earlier poster said, it probably won't support it without an extra program. I've heard good things about BSPlayer for MKV files.

According to this review, at 12:28 into the video he plays a .mkv video just fine.

I pretty much exclusively use BS Player now on all my android systems. Makes things so easy.
