Water damage to my new Vivid - Screen is dark?

Back story: Within the first 48 hours of owning my brand new Vivid it got water damage (I guess leaving it on my sink while I shower is a bad idea? The condensation ruined my phone.) I pressed the power button multiple times but it would immediately shut off (at the time, I didn't know what was wrong with my phone), and finally it wouldn't turn on altogether. It made a weird buzzing noise, and I left it alone for a few days in your conventional bowl of uncooked rice. Once again, it wouldn't turn on. I was close to giving up on the phone altogether until I picked it up today and plugged it into its charger, and it actually works - the sound, touch screen, texts, calling, everything. However, there is one small problem: the screen is very dark and somewhat flickery. I'm not sure if this is something I can fix myself, or if I should send it to HTC and they can fix it for me?

Your help is much appreciated! :)

If you bought the phone at AT&T, just bring it back(don't tell them that you got it wet), and get a new one. Good luck.:)

I actually brought it into AT&T because I didn't know what was wrong with it. They took one look at it and said it was water damage, because the water damage indicator inside of the phone and on the battery turned from white to red.
Plus, they can only replace/fix phones that have insurance, which I opted not to buy because I've always been extremely careful with my phones (it's ironic how one stupid little mishap caused me so much trouble!)
AT&T has all sorts of excellent ways to screw their customers over, I think.
But thank you so much for your suggestion! :) I didn't think anybody would reply!

Please don't take this the wrong way, as i'm not trying to start an argument...People who say that AT&T tries to screw you over, are the people who DON"T buy the insurance(for whatever reason), and then complain when they can't get something for free, which other people paid to have the insurance for. The idea of insurance is that you are covered, but you hope that you never need it. Good luck with the phone.:)

if they didn't log anything on their computers (it's a hit and miss, some assholes will put in the system you came in and had water damage) you can actually buy a new sticker, they're really cheap and have gotten me out of buying a new MacBook ;)

if that's too much work sometimes just letting it sit and dry will fix it. submerging it in a bag of uncooked rice will suck the water out.
how? i don't know

Get one of those silica gel packs that come with new electronic equipment and put that in a plastic bag with your phone. Place the bag in you car in the sun on a warm afternoon and let it sit for a few hours. See if that doesn't suck the moisture out and allow the silica pack to absorb it...

To have work done on an "insured" phone is expensive. Don't know if they have separate repair costs, but the replacement cost - with insurance - was $200 last time I checked.

This is one reason why I buy phones from Best Buy. There insurance will cover water damage.
