This great piece of metal is going to be my first car! It's a 1970 Chevelle camaro! It was my dad's first car and ever since I was born he has been waiting for the day I drive off in it. I'm 16 now so it shouldn't be too long now and he gets to see it happen. This was taken with my stock galaxy s4 under normal settings with no editing. Admire it's beauty!! :)

Metal before the magic happens. Taken with my Galaxy Nexus and edited with the Google+ photos app.

This was taken on a jobsite this summer. I had some time to kill in the evening so I wandered around looking for cool stuff to shoot. I came across this old tank tucked against the building and almost overgrown. I took a number or shots but this was my favorite!

Taken with a Galaxy Nexus. Although I can't remember for sure, chances are very good I used HDR Camera+ to take it and edited it using either Snapseed or Adobe Photoshop express.

Sprinkler Standpipe. Taken with the Motorola Droid Ultra.

It's Wednesday, and that means we're gearing up for another week-long photo contest focused on a prompt of our choosing. We like to keep things broad, usually, and we're going to stick with that theme by using the prompt "metal" this week. That could certainly be represented in a variety of ways, so we're ready to see your creativity come out with this one. As always, there will be a prize involved.

This week we're picking a single winner, and their photo entry will win them an HP Chromebook 11 (customized with an Android Central sticker on the lid, of course)!

Entering is easy. Just drop your entry in a post below. Tell us what Android you used to get the picture, and any back story you want to add to it. We'll pick a winner Tuesday (January 28) night at 11:59 PM ET, and announce them on the blog with next Wednesday's contest.

  • Pictures must be taken with an Android device
  • Pictures must be uploaded to the contest thread. I'm not running all over the Internet to track them down.
  • You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any special software you might have used. Editing your pictures is fine ? this is art.
  • You must have used a valid email address to register here at AC, so I know how to contact the winner.
  • Only one entry per week per person.

Good luck, everyone!

Samsung SG 3

So I have Win 7 Professional on this damn laptop and I cannot find delete post here.
My android should have allowed me to upload from there but there was no attachment box.

This is a discarded legacy slow cooker taken with my Samsung Note 3.

Photo effects: degraded image by posting it to a social network which compresses its image uploads, downloading it back to my phone and adding another generation by crunching the image through a Tapatalk image upload... Enjoy! :-D

P.S. That's my dog Kneesaa, she isn't made of metal, pure fluff only.

Shot with Nexus 4, HDR, no additional editing. On South 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ. Presumably the display is to commemorate Arizona's centennial in 2012. I've always had a thing for street signs!

Here's a piece of aluminum being cut on a CNC milling machine, taken with a Nexus 5 with a little tweaking in Photoshop.

I've seen this done with coloured pencils and, after looking for inspiration all day, I noticed a few loose screws rolling around in the back of my van. Taken with my Nexus 5 with a little tweak here and there with Snapseed
