Weird Secure Folder Issue

Here's an odd issue I can't seem to solve. Whenever I try to move a picture from gallery to secure folder I get this strange issue. It will ask for my normal gesture to unlock the secure folder and then it will sit there for 10 seconds or so and then crash back to the home screen. I then go back into gallery and try again and it works fine...almost. The picture does go into the secure folder as it should but my multitask button disappears at the bottom and the pull down notification screen at the top will not open. The only way to fix it is a reboot. I have tried clearing the phone's cache and it doesn't help. I'm not sure if the issue is with the secure folder app, the gallery app, or Pie. I'm trying to avoid the factory reset thing as I always end up losing stuff no matter how much I back up. Any ideas?

Unless Samsung messed up, it's not Pie. The Samsung Gallery app, or the Android Gallery app? The Android Gallery app works fine. Samsung may have messed up with their Gallery app. The "secure folder app" is part of Gallery in Android Gallery.

I would hold off on factory reset for now but does sound like a bug , see what happens by the next update

Really annoying but luckily I don't move things to the secure folder all that often. I really miss Titanium Backup. I had no issues with a factory reset with that. Only thing I miss about rooting.

I just tried and mine worked fine. Moved over quickly.
Used Samsung gallery.

I have a T mobile, Pie, locked Note 9.

My issue involves 2 factor authentication. Every time Google sends me the yes/no notification, the three-lined navigation icon on the navigation bar disappears. It requires a restart to get it back. I think it has something to do with Secure Folder. Very frustrating.

Sounds very similar to what's happening with mine. Next time it happens try pulling down the notification screen at the top of your phone and see if that still works. Mine usually won't work when that happens.

No idea. Never used gestures before. No idea even how to test it.

To use full gestures pull the notifications panel down and swipe to next page and long press the toggle navigation bar.

Same result. Right hand gesture "button" disappears after moving the photo and pull down menu will not pull down until a reboot. Just to reiterate the complete procedure I used: Choose photo, open menu and choose "move to secure folder", it will crash to home screen after a few seconds if sitting there, everything is fine at this point, go back to same photo, repeat steps to move it, photo goes to secure folder as it should but navigation pull down won't work and right side button on bottom is gone. Only fix is a reboot.

Report , only way I know to contact Samsung or go in members app and post the problem.

It does but i can live with it for now. I don't use secure folder all that often anyway. Hopefully a future update fixes it.
