Well I'm at my 14th day...

I have the Pixel 3XL and iPhone XR. I thought I'd try out the Note 9 and now it's decision time. I'm thinking of returning the Note 9 and waiting for the Note 10. Meanwhile I can save some money by not having an extra line. I'll miss the Note! I'm also concerned about how well the phone will handle the upgrades!

I'm staying...I started to get the phone ready to be sent back and couldn't do it. First of all I love Samsung Pay...the build quality of this phone is amazing and like I said...the Pixel is a toy compared to this.

Yeah I even like Samsung notes...and pen up...so many awesome things that would be missed. If anything I'll try and sell the Pixel

I think you have made the right choice Robin. I was tempted by the pixel 3 (not the XL...ewww). However for near the same price in the UK I get the note and it has so much more on offer. From the aod, notification led, the build, the screen, the pen (off screen memos!), Split screen.... So much going for it.

my last note was the Note 3, replaced it with an S4, received it as a Christmas gift.., decided to go with a "normal" phone again with the S7 edge..missed the note the entire time...to the point that i bought 2 tablets in that time frame with the s pens. I upgraded on the 19th of this month....no regrets...this phone is awesome...the battery...awesome...love the s pen!....I will probably use this one through the next 2 or 3 generation Notes.

My wife never believes me either...lol But I had the S7 edge since release date, I pre-ordered it and kept it til this month...I was SO ready for an upgrade.

I'm the same, plan to keep this one for at least three years...not believed either! However with the new phones having holes or notches I think this one will be easier to keep. Why upgrade for a screen with bits missing...? The note 9 is the best of the best at a time the industry is going to crazyland for a while.

I'm happy you said "going to crazy land for a while". Samsung were crazy in the past with the Note 5/S6 both lacking a memory card slot. They "repented of their sin with the S7/Note 7.4 years later the competition in the smartphone industry is much much greater. People have many other options. If it affects their sales drastically Samsung will retrace their steps to THE PATH OF SMARTPHONE WISDOM (which is paved with dollars and euros.)

I dont mind the idea of a folding phone if there is a good reason for it. A two screened phone that does what they currently do, no point. My crazyland is the notches and holes that they are all doing. Why would I pay so much for a screen which is essentially incomplete. I am fine with a lip at the top and bottom, so until they resolve the screen stuff ill stick with the note or drop down to a different phone.

Yeah, that Samsung pay is the only thing that really keeps me hooked in. The rewards are occasionally useful

I had the iPhone X when I made the switch and I have always been an Apple user. I however am glad I made the switch over to Samsung and the Note 9. I love the battery life. I enjoy the wireless charging which is more common now but still. I upgrade yearly and think I will continue with the Note line up vs going back to Apple.
