what a let down TB sucks!

I hope you're right. I was disheartened when I saw the specs were the same as the year old Inc and X.
I do know that my friends G2 is really fast with 800mhz and 4G. So I'm hopeful.

I can't complain though. I'm upgrading from a D1.

That's just it, the specs aren't the same. The processor clock speed is the same, but that's not hardly the "specs."

Exactly. Familiarize yourselves with this table, people:

Snapdragon (System on Chip) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Incredible is QSD8650 - 1GHz, 65nm, Adreno 200
Thunderbolt is MSM8644 - 1GHz, 45nm, Adreno 205

Bottom line - more efficient plus hardware acceleration in the GPU.

I have an Incredible and will likely make the jump to the Thunderbolt. Dual-core would be nice, but this 2nd gen Snapdragon will more than suffice.

I'm going to be getting the Bolt, and I'm very excited about the 205. I too will be getting it on a 1 year so that I'm ready to up again when the 3rd Gen Snapdragon HTC devices hit.

I know Qualcomm sampled the 3rd Gen Dual-Core Snapdragons in June of this year, does anyone know when Nvidia sampled the Tegra 2? Did Nvidia get out of the gate first and HTC is so in-bed with Qualcomm that they passed on the Tegra2?

Well I'm glad the 2nd gen Snapdragon is exciting. I'm glad that it's gonna have 2nd gen Sense too. Since the D1 was pure, I wasn't sure I wanted Sense. With all the complaints about Blur and Sense n all.
Now all I'll have to do is get over the slide out keyboard. It's kinda like training wheels. I won't know what it's like till it's gone.

Nvidia sampled Tegra 2 early 2010/late 09 while everyone else was so focused on 1Ghz processors. They're already working on Tegra 3 and Tegra 4, they'll always have the lead unless someone else skips a generation to try an compete directly with Nvidia.

Even though the Thunderbolt isn't a monster hardware wise, something STILL makes me like it. It's just something about HTC's reputation and great build quality that lets you know you'll be getting a solid device.

LOL, thanx. i just gave the abbreviated version. I'm already tired of explaining that. Really makes you wonder the motives of some the people pining for more "powerful" specs. People will look at a competing phone's 8mp camera and feel they're getting ripped off because their's is only 5. Or in this case, and many, many others here, or other tech blogs like engadget someone will complain that a G2 sucks cuz its slower than their Incredible. Or that the TB sucks because its just like an EVO
