*..What app do I use for wifi tether...rooted?..*

I just picked up a Sprint GS3 and rooted it. Was trying to find "Wifi Tether" in the app store as that is what qbking77 said works but I couldn't find that one. Want to find a good one that works well as this is my fifth line that I use at home for a hotspot. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Stock rooted but I could do a custom rom if I need to. Also I'm on 4.1.2

If you go here you can dl & flash a mod that allows use of native hotspot app. Since your stock you will want odexed version.

There many good custom ROMs on xda if you want to go that route that already have this mod built in.

And really the only thing I will be using it for is a wifi hotspot. How do I load in that new rom?

Have you installed a custom recovery? If so, dl the mod(it is in a zip file). Once its dl then reboot into recovery, wipe cache & dalvik cache. Then go to install & select that zip file.

And which one do I install? Md4, mc3, or mb1?

Ya I have a recovery zip installed. So I would download the new zip, put it on my phone, boot into recovery mode, clear cache and dalvik cache and then install from ad that zip and reboot?

MD4, that is most current. Yes, dl to your phone(internal or external sd is fine). Then boot into recovery.

Just open your hotspot app & turn it on.
