what are the "Others" files consist of, found in my device storage, in My Files on my Sam

[AC Question]

The "Others" files are taking up, close to 8 gigs of my device storage. I would like to reduce them to a much smaller file size or get rid of them. Yet, NO MATTER WHO I ASK I can't get an answer to what those files consist of. I want to know exactly what makes up the others files. They are not any of the other categories of files such as music, pictures, documents. So WHAT THE **** ARE THEY!?

What device? What is its storage capacity? 'Others' sometimes includes the OS.

within storage usage the device storage looks like this

Device storage: 9.13GB / 16.00 GB 7.5 of the 9.13 is Other. How much memory does the Lollipop OS consume?

Okay. 'Others' in both internal and external memory would be everything not included in the other categories. I'm guessing it would be mainly OS, pre-installed apps, apps you've downloaded yourself, and Cached Data.
