What are you looking forward to with this new version of Wear OS-Tizen?

Well I'm going to set up Google pay tomorrow. I wanna to try it and start paying from my watch. Me and my husband both looked we have one app and it's called Google pay but the icon says Gpay. I open mine up and it said something about do you want to upgrade to the new version. But I didn't do anything further yet.

Yes, Google Pay was recently updated from the old version. I installed, but never bothered to look at it until it asked me to update it. I then set it up on my phone and forgot about it until this forum. I also recently set up Samsung Pay on my watches, never use it on them. I use Samsung Pay on my phone (Note 20 5G), regularly for contactless pay, when I can. I'll try Gpay and see if I like it. I usually just sweep up from the bottom, even with my phone locked, to use Samsung pay and @jlanger have never had any issues. I wonder if that could be replaced by Gpay.

Well someone said with G Pay you don't even have to open the app you just turn on NFC and hold your phone up so I am anxious to try it. But I want to try Samsung Pay again to on my phone cause I am thinking maybe NFC wasn't on the one time I tried it on my S21 Ultra not too long ago. My husband said he doesn't leave his NFC on only turns it on when using G Pay.

This is kind of a cool feature of Google Pay.

Thanks I will watch it in a bit. But I have a question and I've already seen YouTube videos where you can play music and hear it from the watch which I probably won't do but then there was an article on here in the news feed that said there's no speaker to listen to music. But that can't be right cuz you're able to answer and take a call from your watch correct?

Yep you can listen to music through the watch speaker, well with the Classic at least, not sure about other variants.

I just bought the Watch 3 when it came out last year and swore up and down I wasn't going to get the Watch 4... until they announced that it was going to have Wear OS... so I bought one... Will be here Sat! I CANNOT WAIT!!! :D

I thought so don't know why this article on here said no. Especially if you can answer a call and their is a speaker like on my Active 2. I'll mess it with it here soon mine is updating.

REceived my Classis, 46mm, LTE version on Wed mid-day, 25 August. Set up was not really a problem. Came wtih about 65% battery.

NOTE REGARDING WATCHFACES: Your previous Tizen watchfaces will NOT, repeat NOT, transfer or run on the Watch 4. In fact, about half of the watchfaces I tried from the Samsung Galaxy store are based on Wear OS but do NOT run on the Samsung version of the Wear OS. Some of them actually point this out in the notes.

I am sure I'll find plenty of new watchfaces. I am going to the fair tonight and kind of scared to wear it out without a protector. I may wear my old one just for tonight plus I am not done setting it all the way up.

Disappointed. The one medical app that works on Wear OS 2, doesn't want to work on Wear OS 3 on GW4. Hopefully it will real soon.

I have the bluetooth watch connected to my phone. I see wifi is turned on but I don't need it on right? Is that for if you forget your phone and leaving it on does it drain your watch battery?

Right but if I'm playing something from Amazon music on my phone can I make it play through the watch? I see the controls but it plays from my phone. But this is silly but I love having my AR emoji animated as a watch face and then I just got my bitmoji which is what I saw on Flossy's video and every time you flip your wrist it changes to something different but I like how you can add different things like the weather your steps battery. Now I'm going to let it track my sleep I usually put it in good night mode and then turn it back on in the morning.

You have to change the output. I don't have my watch 4 yet, but on the watch 3 you chage it in the upper right hand corner when playing music. Their should be an icon looks like a phone click it and it should change to play from the watch.

Thanks I thought I clicked on every icon I saw but I thought maybe it's a spotify or you tube thing and me playing Amazon Music on phone wouldn't work. I don't know I'll check again my watch is on the charger.

Edit: I just put a song on from Amazon Music and this time I saw on my watch media device playback on phone or watch and I clicked on watch and resume playback and it said can't play try in app. I see an icon of buds than a speaker icon and watch at the top above resume playing like it's playing on watch and it don't play even when I hit the speaker button.

Regarding the google pay and Samsung pay…a long press on back key brings up Samsung pay, which does not seem configurable.

And I have google pay (classic) on my phone, but I don’t think it works on watch…I can’t start it from there.

Anyone else using google pay?

It may be one of those google features “coming” like google assistant.

I've got the LTE version and I noticed the same thing with the cell radio. Just a few minutes ago I noticed my LTE was connected despite the phone being just a foot away. I decided to leave it alone and see what happens, and it turned off again after awhile. I've got LTE set to auto, maybe it's the same thing with wifi. If you have your wifi set to "off," I bet this won't happen.

On a sidenote, I wish there were a quick setting for LTE like there is for wi-fi. They've got a mobile data button, but that doesn't toggle the actual cell radio. Not sure why anyone would want their watch connected to cellular service but not have data.

there are two ways to start google pay that I know of. One is to map the top button for double press to open google pay and the other is to slide up to the apps and tap google pay

I am having trouble whenever I get a text and try to hit the mic to reply it's not working anymore it says initializing and doesn't do anything it's weird. It worked in the beginning then I got Google Messages and it didn't work so I went back to Samsung and now it don't work.

I'd call Samsung to return the watch. They'll probably make you do a hard reset first. Back up your settings and it shouldn't be that big of a deal to do.

Well I just switched it from Google text to speech back to Samsung then back and it started working. Now it says initializing and goes right to speak it's normal again. My S21 ultra does that alot it stays on initializing before it goes to speak. But this wasn't even going to speak but now it does. Thank Goodness!
