What are you thoughts with the newest update for the Atrix?

Like it? What's to like? Data speeds BLOW. Download speed consistently clock in the 1 Mbps range, with a few "rogue" speeds exceeding 2 Mbps. Uploads WAY worse.

Turn on the WiFi at home with FiOS, and 13+ Mbps down and 4+ Mbps up are the norm.

Great phone. Love it. AWFUL network....always have hated it. Had to jump from Verizon to Cingular years ago when we moved our office and the new building acted as some kind of anti-Verizon antenna...no signal at all in the building. Weird.

This may sound dumb (forgive me if you've already done this) but I read in one of these threads you need to go to the APN and change it to AT&T HSPDA or whatever it's called, from the default of AT&T US. I can't vouch for it because I have no update, and you've probably already done this, but, thought I'd throw it out there juuuust in case, to help someone out.

Haven't really noticed a big difference, d/l's are a bit higher, even got to 4meg one time but that is effected by a lot of things so cant really say. Seat of the pants they do seem a little bit better. My area has not seen the backhaul yet. U/L are definately better, I get a good 1+Meg up and before it was at best .3. As far as the Battery haven't noticed much difference but I am not a heavy user nor do I play a lot of games. Phone does get a little warm sometimes but it did that before. Speed wise to me seems about the same maybe a little more responsive but nothing to write home about. All in all I like it even though it did not set the a World record for change , they did make some improvements. Now If ATT would only install the backhaul and if we could get OS 2.3 ??

That doesn't work or make any difference. I have to agree it's a great device but AT&T without a doubt has the worst network out of any mobile company, even TMobile has a faster network. I don't care for HSPA+ I want LTE.

I'm seeing speeds consistently around 1.2 Mbps. My big issue, with the update, is that the phone no longer goes to sleep / turns the screen off. I slip it in my pocket, or leave it on the desk, and come back and it's burning up and the screen hasn't switched off.

Dunc

My fingerprint reader seems to be non-responsive sometimes. This started happening after I installed the update. The first update that Moto released increased its accuracy, but this update seems to be have made the overall functionality worse!

I'm having the same issues. I have to restart the phone to get the functionality back. It happens after phone call comes through while the phone is in lock and the screen is off.

Quite frustrating.

No doubt about it.... Its just a shame verizon didnt have anything close to Atrix's specs at the time I upgraded with ATT... I could have just paid termination fees and switch over.. But I'll wait though until may 2012 and see how the situation on the market will look like.....

My power button has been funny since the update, I don't use the fingerprint scanner. Sometimes I have to push it a couple times before the device will turn on.
