What are YOUR impressions of the Pixel 3/3 XL?

I'm more impressed with the software improvements than the hardware. That's always been my feeling when it comes to the Pixels and even the Nexus.

to be honest, I am not very impressed!! I currently use a Pixel 2, and it hasn't pushed me for an upgrade (although I had been planning to).
- Mainly because of the glass body which might be fragile
- No dual sim support (now especially when the whole world of mobiles does)
- Similar design to the Pixel 2

Im from europe and the price is very expensive
I'm from Europe too. The Pixel 3 64GB it £739. I don't thinks that's expensive for what you get - especially given the iPhone XS is £999. From what I've seen and heard the Pixel 3 feels more premium than the Pixel 2. It has wireless charging, an improved camera and smaller bezels. It is somewhat iterative, but so was the iPhone XS and the Samsung Galaxy S9. Most phone updates are relatively iterative - if they weren't it would be a different phone altogether.

Pixel 3 is the sleeper hit this year.
No "bathtub" sized notch
Screen increase by 0.5" in an every so slightly smaller body compared to Pixel 2
Wireless charging
Meaningful upgrades to front and rear cameras. The 12MP part is the same, the sensor is upgraded.
Slight bump in battery size
Screen panel is better compared to last year

Now for all of this they want $150 more, that is a bit steep. If they had priced it at $749, I believe this would be a greater hit than it is going to be.

Agreed. I think $749 was the sweet spot for the base model. I'm still a buyer at $799, but I think there are some consumers that will pause and may take a little more time to make the same decision at that price point.

Not if it is hiding the notch....

We have found out since my prior post that disabling or hiding the notch doesn't behave like some of the other Android phones which blacken the area and leave the notifications and status inline with the notch. Hopefully they'll fix that later for those who prefer that behavior.

Sounds to me like they priced it correctly then...LOL

Other than the main camera, I'm not all that impressed by the Pixel 3. The price bump is a bit much, haven't used wireless charging in years, never considered enhanced selfie quality that big of a deal and don't view glass as a more premium material than aluminum. The overall upgrade just isn't enough to justify paying over $800 when I have a pristine Pixel 2 that meets all my needs.
