What are YOUR impressions of the Pixel 3/3 XL?

Good looking phone, but I'm a bigger fan of the smaller Pixel 3. The updates sound excellent and the pricing reasonable. I do wish there was one more color option added such as a red or orange. I've heard it described as phone of the year, but the year isn't over and we haven't seen the Samsung Galaxy S10 or Oneplus 6T.

I've looked and not sure I've found a good answer; is there a difference from this phone ordered through Verizon vs ordering from Google? Do updates get downloaded at the same time or is there a delay?

I have an OG Pixel XL received from Google and I have a Verizon upgrade burning a hole in my pocket. Not sure what they're going to offer as far as a deal to get me back in contract but I'm going to go there later to ask and see how big the XL is this year and if it'll work for me.

I do know that the bootloader is locked w/ Verizon but I don't root so I don't care.

The Galaxy S9 only has 4GB of RAM, so you wouldn't be in any better shape in that department. And unless you get a deal or get it used, the base price is the same on Verizon ($799 for 64FB).

Good catch. If it was between those 2 I would take the Pixel. Hopefully there is a good Black Friday deal on the Note 9.

My impressions of the 3 (non XL) after a day -vs- Pixel 2...

1. Screen is MUCH better than the Pixel 2
2. Don't notice any speed increase
3. Battery life to early to tell
4. Feels good in hand, not slippery
5. Camera is better but I've only taken a few photos
6. Gestures are meh but I'll learn to live with them
7. Price is ridiculous -vs- $650 for the Pixel 2
