Why can't Google just implement this simple solution right into the software?
The bottom in a notchless notch.... :/
Ok so I went ahead and ordered the XL... Hate that the White XL 128 is the only phone showing that ships until November. I should have ordered yesterday when it was showing October 22.
The notch design ... hurts the phone's usability. The status bar might be twice as tall as normal, but horizontally, it doesn't have nearly enough room to work with. On the left side, you'll usually be able to see a whopping two or three notification icons. If you have exactly three icons, you can see three notification icons. But usually the third slot is taken up by the "more" icon, so you only actually see two icons.
On the right side, you see the battery icon, LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity, and then about three status icons for vibration/silence, alarm, do not disturb, hotspot, and Bluetooth. I like to have the battery percentage enabled on my phone, so I get to see the battery and connectivity information... but then I run out of space. On the Pixel 3 XL, I have to choose between seeing the battery percentage at a glance or knowing if the phone is on silent or has an alarm set. (emphasis added)
I had a play with both Pixel 3 phones today and they and they look and feel in a completely different league to the Pixel 1 and 2. Much more premium and both with excellent screens. I am happy with the price, given how much Apple charges for its flagships. Here in the UK we pay $977.57 for the smaller Pixel 3 64GB and I still think it's worth it.Looks like a serious, no frills phone hardware wise. I don't know how they can justify the price hike for basically the same specs as last year even the camera is the same with some new AI tricks thrown on it.

Then please go get the better phone and join that thread. I don't think those of us interested in this phone discussing the phone should do any harm to you.
Enter the new pixel 3 phones and almost the same as the pixel 2 phones. Sorry but I don't see the big deal. So for $900 you can get a mid range phone with average specs complete with the best camera of any cell phone. Now that is definately open to opinion. Also what use is the best camera in the world if you can't see what you are taking because the screen isn't bright enough. There isn't even a head phones socket. Cmon stop this fan boy nonsense. There are way better phones out there.

But just like some others in this forum, they have to explain to you why you're wrong, and why you should choose what they did. Come on, this is the internet.
Personally, I've never seen the point of these posts. Why go into a forum for something you're not interested in to tell other people why they're wrong in choosing what they did? They have no idea about what I want or need, but yet feel secure enough to tell me what I should do with my money. Talk about arrogance.
