Personally, Im upgrading from an HTC Evo 3d. Very great phone! No real need to upgrade but its been a year so i think its time i catch up to the world in the form of mobile tech! Was originallly looking at the note 2, but with a $300 price tag it turned me off instantly. When i went to the store to play with it i found all these crazy features and i was like hmm ill never use them.. Then i looked at the S3 which looked nice but i didnt like it too much. Either way i wasnt ready for an upgrade. Then i saw the HTC One on sprints website and i knew it would be my next phone! First of all the phone is a looker, thats what turned me on at first! Im a bit excited about blinkfeed and about the really cool new camera features! 2 front facing speakers will be a nice addition, but currently i dont really use my phone for media (yet the htc one may change that)! My main reason for the phone is catching up with the times though and i have loved my Evo 3D So i figured htc couldnt go wrong with the One! Whatre your main reasons for making the switch?

Where to start! First things were the speakers and screen size I think.

My phone has a 4.3 inch display i thought that was quite perfect! I am looking forward to the upgrade is size since there is a much higher resolution! I think one thing i hated about the galaxy devices was the placement of the lock button. I have had iphones, ipods and my 3D and they all have it on top which seems very intuitive to me and i really hated the side button

Yea 5"+ is getting silly unless you want a 2 handed phablet, I'll admit this phone is a stretch for me but I think it's a good balence of screen realestate and usability

Yeah i agree there, i have large hands so 4.7 shouldnt make a difference to me, but then again i have never held a 4.7 inch screen!

I just recently had to retire my HTC Inspire...only because it had become VERY outdated--I mean single core, c'mon. But when I first got it, it was love at first sight--came from a Blackberry--nuff said. I looked at my husbands S3...and it's nice, but not for me. My tablet is a Samsung, and I'm just not really that crazy about touch wiz. Back to why...I absolutely LOVE the look!! I love the screen size. I didn't want to go with 5 inch...HTC will suit me just fine. The speakers are just a plus. The sense 5 looks awesome. I WANT THIS PHONE! :)) And I usually get what I want. Plus I'm just a HTC gal. Besides, I hate getting what everyone else has, just because it's popular. I've always liked going my own way....and for me that's with the HTC One.

Yeah im the person who doesnt want the iPhone or a Galaxy device because its too mainstream and its nothing special when everyboy else has the same exact thing! Thats why i snagged the 3D because it was one of those smartphone rarities that could take 3D pictures and play 3D Games! Everyone thought it was really cool! Oh and the dual screened Kyocera Echo i had that too everybody went crazy when i pulled that phone out of my pocket.

And to Russ 4.7 should be perfect for me then because I liked the S3 screen sze but thats about it

Reasons for my choice:

1. Call quality, which by all reports is excellent.
2. Camera, which has the very attractive and seductive Zoe feature.
3. Design, and a quality exterior. I passed on the S3 months ago because I thought it looked almost 80's. Too much plastic. (Yeah, I know we didn't have smartphones in the 80's, just a feeling about the design. It's OLD.) I got a tpu case, and it seems to snuggle in my hand quite well, even though my hands are small.
4. The front facing speakers. Speakerphone should be stellar.

Because i'm a smartphone junky and I can't kick the habit. My family tried to do an intervention but they failed.
Also I hold a special place in my wallet for HTC.

Like a previous poster stated, I have a problem. 16 phones in about 3 years

IF i get it, it would be becuase of good development and the fancy design. The only downfall for me is the smaller non removable battery. Every htc ive owned had horrid battery life.

You and me both! I say this all the time.

I have had an HTC phone since the hero, went to the original EVO, now The One will be my next.

I love the style of this phone, the all aluminum body, it just looks sexy. I also am excited about the Zoe feature, blinkfeed, and boomsound (the name is growing on me). The screen size and resolution has me excited, as well as having a phone that is faster than any piece of technology I currently have in my house, ha!

Two words: Metal Unibody.

All the other stuff is just icing. I'm, certainly not going to complain about the screen, speakers, or a camera that will actually frickin do something indoors.

Also, lol this is all I could think of reading people in this thread :p

4.7" isn't anything unique or new

The one is getting awfully popular for people who want to be unpopular... Never understood this logic

First point for me would be screen quality. HTC has some amazing looking screens.

Second would be audio quality. I'm not a fan of the look of the speakers but appreciate the quality.

And can't say for sure without hands on experience but sense 5 should bring a lot of people in.

I've never understood why people get a particular phone to be "popular" and avoid certain phones because everyone else wants one. Whatever happened to wanting a phone that has the features you want?
