What cool things are you doing with your nexus 7?

Display the gui for my whole house automation. Connects & controls Lights, HVAC, irrigation, speakers in every room, security system, caller id, turn TV & stereos on & off, and other stuff I'm blanking on. Sick today, heads a mess.

To be fair, the N7 just does the GUI display. It connects to a server that does the actual TCP or rs232 control.

1. Replaced my iPhone using Google Voice + Talkatone! (Bite me, Apple! LOL!)

2. Browsing the web/email/IMs... I haven't touched or turned on my laptop or desktop since I received my N7! I'm shocked.

3. Movies, ebooks, TV shows, music and magazines.

4. RSS Reading

I could go on and on... my N7 has effectively ousted my laptop and desktop, lol! Love this little thing! :D

The question should be what I don't do with my N7???? I use it all the time for everything..... as soon as I put it down, I quickly pick it back up and start messing with it.... :D

Stealing my friends WiFi to check gas prices before my 1.5hr trip home. OK I told him I was but stood outside. Saved like 12cents a gal. I almost forgot to check,

got it last night so spent today just staring at it and wondering how its faster and more responsive than my $650 TF201........

This....times ten. I cannot for the life of me figure out how this can be. I loved my prime, but as far as speed and responsiveness, this thing just has it beat.

The coolest new thing I use it for is remote apps.

I like hooking the laptop up to the TV and watching shows from the comfort of bed, used to be a big hassle having to get up all the time to change shows/volume etc. Now I use "unified remote" to control whatever I want and then put the laptop to sleep with a button when I'm done. Also use mediamonkey remote server to change music from the kitchen/balcony etc.

Aside from that I like Gtasks to sync my google tasks, also use colornote because I love the format, though I hope that there will be a way to sync with colornote on my phone. Or if it could sync with Google tasks, that would be even more amazing.

I like to cook, so I use the N7 when I'm cooking sometimes to either look up recipes quickly or watch a video for a little assistance.

I use the google chrome browser extensively, I know some people have hatred towards the new chrome browser for the phone. But I absolutely love it. I love that it syncs bookmarks from my phone/laptop etc. I love that I can turn my laptop off, go to bed, pick my tablet up and finishing reading the articles I had tabbed on my laptop.

I'm a huge hypocrite though, 2 or 3 years ago I remember thinking. Why would someone need a tablet? I have a phone that can multitask and browse the web, a laptop for my computational needs and a ps3 for gaming and multimedia

Well a tablet is a little of everything, and I find myself using my N7 every single day since I bought it.

The best thing I do with it is to control my media centre using Plex.I have Plex Media Server running on my Mac Mini, which is hooked up to the TV, and use the Android app to browse my TV shows and movies on both the tablet itself and in front of me on my TV. I can then watch my shows on either and if on the TV then Plex turns into a remote control, very cool.

I'm still looking for a decent trackpad and remote keyboard/mouse app (not remote desktop), equivalent to RowMote on iOS.

I'm a huge listener of talk radio and podcasts. I listen to Tunein Radio and get pretty much my fill of radio all evening. I also throw the N7 in my gym bag, hop on the treadmill and watch a TV episode from Crackle, but one of my favorite things I do with my N7 is use it for a GPS. It works great using Navfree USA.

?1.32's worth of USB female to micro USB male lead, and I can plug my Nikon DSLR into it and dump the contents of the SD card into the Nexus direct at a shoot, instant photo backup on site without waiting to get home! Just installed Helicon remote and DSLR Dashboard from work, to control the camera and review images on the go, and will be having a play when I get home. Also handy for running my ebay business from pretty much anywhere...

Since I have a N7 with cellular capabilities, I have been using Google Voice and Groove IP to make calls on. This N7 thing is changing my life. So happy I never wasted money on an iPad.

Also signed up for a Netflix account and paid for breakfast at McDs using the NFC thing.
