Question What determines the file type of photos taken with the camera. Samsung Note10+

Photos are stored as .HEIC. Previously they were stored as .JPG.
This started happening after I installed the Samsung Music app. I looked at the phone's Settings but I don't see any setting for File Type. I've now uninstalled it, but that doesn't seem to have restored the File Type setting.
There isn't a Note10+ native app for playing .mp3--at least I haven't found one.

That setting is likely found in the camera app settings, not the phone settings. At least that's how it's been on my phones (albeit not Samsung phones). You probably got the option during an OS or app update that then defaulted to HEIC.

For my Samsung S24 Ultra, it's in the camera settings, advanced picture options.
