What did you lose after backing up and restoring with Kies?

I want to pull the trigger on a factory reset after upgrading to Lollipop, but I am afraid of what I might lose. This is the first time doing this on a non-rooted phone, so I do not know what to expect.

I hate the thought of losing data, is there any reason to also make a backup with Helium?

You can back up all of your WiFi settings with Kies.

I'm pretty sure they are backed up by Google anyway.

My main concern is app data, fingerprints, and miscellaneous settings.

I didn't lose anything else yeah I didn't back up with Google because of privacy
It failed to back up in kies
Decry thing is backed up for me and restored so you will not have any problem

The one thing I wish I had done before backing up with KIES, doing my factory reset, then the KIES restore, is to move all apps I had previously moved to my SD card back to device memory. The apps I had moved to SD were not restored (about 20+ of them). What a pain. When I get everything reinstalled and reconfigured, I'm going to do another factory reset.

I'm hoping that it will clear out cruft that wasn't restored fully in my first attempt due to the apps I'd moved to the SD card. Since then, the phone has not performed to expectation. Lots of lag all over the place and general sluggishness.

Boy is that ever disheartening to hear. The main reason I'd do a factory reset is to try to restore the vehicle fast charge I lost w/ Lollipop but since it takes me at least a couple of hours I think I'll just leave my less functional after Lollipop phone the way it is. I never had a problem w/ an Android update before going back to Gingerbread over 5 years ago but I sure wish I had Kit Kat instead of Lollipop. I said this on another thread & I'll say it again on this one, there are just as many people posting about bad experiences w/ Lollipoop (misspelling intended) as there are posting about good ones. Google released an OS that is BS IMO.

Please don't take what I've written as an indictment of Lollipop in general. For the most part, I like it. I just did my backup/factory reset/restore without first moving my apps from the SD card back to the device. In fact, I had no real issues before doing the factory reset, and it really didn't need to be done. I only did it hoping to get Smart Lock to work more reliably. In the end, Smart Lock works no better than it did before. Anyway, good luck, whatever you decide to do/not do.

Does kies restore all of your data from apps?

Please describe exactly what steps you used to restore everything with Kies.
I have done this after each OS backup and was very disappointed with the result.
For example, I have just updated to 5.1.1 as follows:
1. Performed a complete backup of my Note 4 using the latest version of Kies 3.
2. Upgraded my Note 4 from 5.1.0 to 5.1.1.
3. Performed a factory reset.
4. Performed a restore using Kies 3.
The "restored" phone has no accounts, no contacts, etc. etc. although all of these were offered and selected during both backup and restore.

Notice how Google is releasing Marshmallow 6.0 this month. Lollipoop is only at 5.1.1, at best. Kit Kat was 4.4.4, iirc. G realized Lollipoop wasn't worth tinkering with.
