As the title states about 30 mins ago I got a Low On Space notification on my EVO that will not go away ... I searched in the forums for EVO specific similar thread but found non ...

My settings says:

SD Card:
Total Space : 7.41
Avaiable Space : 4.72 G.B.'s ( I just had to )

Internal Phone Storage:
31.02 Mb

What do I do to fix this issue ... Thanks

I am by no means an expert on this phone but without the EVO having Froyo or something that loads your apps on your SD card you phone only has 512mb of storage for apps I think and you only have 31 left thats low.

Go through your apps and see which one is taking up all that space. I have a few apps and have 284mbps of space available. Please let us know what you find. And last but not least did you sideload any apps?

Go into the manage applications section and clear the cache of all your apps.

Damn how many apps do you have lol. I have 104 i believe and I still have about 150MB. Anyway this about you... delete some apps. Delete the cache for all you apps. No idea how much that'll help but it should help at least a little. Hope Froyo comes in August.. so much for 1gb of internal space

roboto65 is indeed correct.

When 2.2 drops for our evo's it will allow us to install and run apps from our SD cards. Until then just go through all of the apps you have installed and decide which apps you don't use or have not used in a while.

I know it's always hard to delete an app, everyone always says bit i use then all. Look through your apps for things like multiple battery or clock widgets. While I was trying to setup my evo just the way I wanted it I downloaded alot of both. Now that I got it all set up I went through all of my downloads and got rid of all the clock and battery widgets I decided not to use. If you change your mind at one point or another you can always redownload them again.

Or you can always go with the root method and install 2.2.

I just went through all my apps which range from 3mb and below ... I do have 3 games that range around 30 Mb each ... I have side loaded a couple also but like I said the greatest is 3mb excluding the 3 games.

I just counted up all the apps in my app drawer which includes the pre installed and downloaded apps ... 25 per page and 7 pages ... 175 total apps.

Some of the app updates included the ability to put the apps onto the SD card ... How do I do this and how can I tell which apps I can do this with .. Thanks for the help.

App installation on SD is a Froyo feature.

You're simply going to need to uninstall some apps, 175 apps is a ... bit much. I have less than half of that and I can't even think of anything else I would want! Can't imagine how you got that many :P

I don't see an option to clear the cache on my apps, or how you can find how much space all the apps are taking up?

Go to your application section under settings then click on the app and you'll see an option to clear the cache

10 pounds of shiit doesn't fit into a 5 pound bag. memory and space is finite on any device. this should be obvious. don't blame the device.

No one is putting the blame on anything ... I guess I really didnt realize I had so much garbage in my app drawer ... everytime I would hear about an app that sounded interesting I would appbrain it ... push the button ... and bamm it was on the phone ... I have many similar apps that I use to see which i like best and some that I havent opened since launch day ... Believe me ... I have started deleting apps ... The 175 apps I had was before I deleted 15 .. lol ... I will be doing some serious house cleaning and stream lining my app drawer ... Thanks all.

What is this you posted ... The graphic isnt coming through

Games are a killer. They can take 10's of megabytes each. Anything large can just be saved as an apk on the card, and things can be switched out as needed that way, without doing an OTA re-download. You still have to re-install them though

Droid X has 8gb of app memory. Time to buy a real phone.

I'd consider a phone with a front facing camera, flash lite, full touch screen, wireless N support, a real user interface not a kiddy cartoon interface, 4g data, capable of both voice and data (in 4g networks), a kickstand just to name a few a "real phone". Considering the X has none of these which is the "real phone" after all?

Lol if only there were some Droid X and EVO hybrid. Perhaps the Epic 4G will be the answer, though I don't care for Samsung
