What do you think of the droid bionic after a year?

I posted this in the droid charge forum to trying to get peoples opinion on this phone? Someone offered to trade me for my droid charge a droid bionic. I was wondering if I should, I know the samsung has the better screen but other than that the bionic has better specs. So would you do it and if not why?

If you think the Super AMOLED screen is better than the one on the Bionic, I suggest you do a side by side comparison on something like Google's home page. Some people are being turned off by the green tint of the Super AMOLED after seeing a comparison. I actually traded in my Razr for the bionic, even with the performance hit. So personally, I'd take the Bionic hands down over the Charge. Even if the screen isn't an issue for you, or even like the Charge screen better, I don't think its specs are worth it.

Now that I have ICS on it, I think it is probably the best thing I have ever used.

YMMV,

I'm using a stock bionic, after a year mine still has minor glitches that can be annoying every now and then. I still think it's a great phone, however looking back is it worth the $300 price tag that verizon slapped on it? Probably not. Good thing on day 1 amazon.com offered the phone for 180 dollars :)

My only wishes are that I hadn't paid a flagship price for Verizon's red-headed stepchild, and that Moto had kept its promise of unlocking the bootloader.

Other than that, I love it. It has officially gotten me hooked on Android. I gave GameStop my one and only Apple product in exchange for credit towards my Nexus 7, and I will never regret that decision.

As for the trade, go for it. The display on the Bionic is a little grainy if you hold it close to your face and look for it, but other than that it's nothing to sneeze at. I never notice it, and it's fantastic on a sunny day.

After a year, I still like my Bionic, but my wifes Galaxy S3 has me really jealous ... The S3 is the phone to get at the moment. But I'm sure there will be something even better in a few months

Well I've moved on to the Galaxy S3 but only because I needed to use my new every 2 or lose it before they switched data plans.

The only semi-consistent problem I had with my Bionic was the switch from wifi/3g/4g. It would lose it's data connection. I could sometimes fix it by switching to airplane mode and sometimes it would require a full reboot. I have not had this problem after the last update (yet).

As far as screens, I think it really pales in comparison to my wife's Galaxy Nexus which I think pales in comparison to my S3. While I think it is a nice screen (works good in day light) it isn't the best by far.

Get the extended battery and don't worry about battery life is really nice! The amount and quality of accessories the Bionic has is DRASTICALLY better than any of our Samsung phones. There really is no comparison and is something I REALLY miss.

I will also say that reception is considerably better on the Bionic than it is on the Nexus or S3. My wife has switched to using my Bionic from her Nexus because she can't get reception in her office at work. The Bionic has reception there and the Nexus doesn't.

Sorry I can't compare it to the Charge but there are some comparisons to the S3 and Nexus (both Samsung phones).

I still love mine, especially after installing the ICS leak. It's a whole new phone. I've got Google Now working on it too, showing that the hardware is capable of running just about anything out there right now.

Data issues have been completely resolved in the ICS builds, and webtop is a lot more stable (I still gripe about losing my true desktop experience though).

There isn't a phone out there right now I'd be interested in switching to unless it came to me completely free.

I agree ics really did breathe new life into this phone. I was a day away from smashing or running mine over after all the data problems, but ics solved em all

My bionic is running like a champ. Its still stock. I'm waiting for the ICS update. The initial reviews of ICS on the RAZR are pretty good so I'm holding out, besides I bought a Nexus 7 to tide me over. I see other people using there various android phones and complaining constantly about glitches. (Granted, most of them are not very good with anything that has a battery). I will say the S3 is damn tempting though.

Still on my launch week Bionic. Still loving the phone. Have multiple batteries so battery life isn't an issue. Haven't experienced the many data drop issues people seemed to have had.

And the ICS leak has made me use my Lapdock even more.

Great phone. Nothing wrong with it so far.. had it since September

Still have my launch week Bionic as well. The problems that I did have were fixed with updates (black screen of death and data drop). I really like it. Been very tempted to try out the ICS leaks, but I think I can wait a few more weeks.

I use my n7 a lot more than my bionic, which greatly reduces my frustration. :-) I hope ICS really helps with data drops as some have claimed

My Bionic's been running great since I got it.

I will say this though. If you spend alot of time watching videos or movies on your phone(I do since I'm too broke to afford a tablet and my laptop is more of a craptop) the screen on the Bionic might not cut the mustard if you're switching from a Charge. It's that grainy affect the extra white subpixel gives you. For everything else it's great and on a day to day basis, I don't think I could stomach the blueish or greenish tinge that AMOLED panels have, but they're definitely better for videos I would imagine.

I'm happy with my Bionic, as I have been since I purchased it last September. No regrets, it has run like a champ. Looking forward to the ICS update, as reports are that it seems stable and bug free.

I am still loving my bionic. I would totally do that trade. My sister has a charge so I have played with it quite a bit. It's a good phone, but the bionic is just so much faster and smoother. I can run high end games on the bionic that would be very choppy on the charge. The battery life also seems better.

Another reason I would do the trade is just because you would be getting a phone that is worth more than your current phone. If it's a straight up trade, you might as well have the phone that is newer and worth more if/when you sell it.

Bionic'd from my tapatalk.

Bought my Bionic day 1. I'm upset that ICS hasn't been released, but in all honesty, it's out of sheer jealousy. My wife has ICS and sure, it's got some cool bells and whistles, but when it comes right down to it, I love my Bionic. The only thing that would make it a better device is ICS (Verizon -- hint, hint...)!! In fact, my Bionic gets MUCH better reception than the Nexus. So would I trade it? Not a chance.

I love my Bionic. I've had a few data issues but nothing to drive me crazy. I'm looking forward to ICS but for now I'm waiting on the OTA. I'm planning on keeping this phone for a long while, it does everything I want and couldn't ask for better
