What does the Nexus 5 do that I won't be able to do on my N4?

I'm late to this thread, but honestly the only things that can't be duplicated on the N4 are OIS and the 1080p screen. The N5 is a great phone for a great price, but I am still REALLY attached to my N4. Can't see myself upgrading until I'm forced.

Yes does anybody know if 4.4 will receive activate Lte?

No, not going to happen. That was a misunderstanding on the part of a blogger that got picked up and reposted everywhere out of context.

LTE feature was never homologate through the FCC, so it's not even legal for Google to*enable it. You can install LTE enabled baseband developed by the community if you know how.

I'm rolling the N4 until the frenzy over the N5 dies down. I'll pick one up after the first of the year used on swappa. And not for the prices people are gouging for them right now.

If you want to take the conservative route, I'd suggest to buy it new when the price drops $100 on Google Play after several months. It's happened with the original N7. And it happened with the N4. So the N5 will probably follow the same pattern.
Sure, you'll be buying a product that's nearing the end of it's shelf life. But at $249/$299 for a 16GB/32GB, it's a friggen steal.

FYI, I just installed the 4.4 factory image on my N4, updated the search app to today's new version, installed the GEL launcher apk, and installed a wallpaper much like the nice looking N5 stock wallpaper. Now my N4 looks pretty much like my N5. Has transparency on home screens, has the "ok google" feature from home (without key press), etc.

I'm hoping for a $199 sale when they are ready for the next Nexus.

In blown away by the performance of KitKat with ART so I don't need an upgrade for a while.

I'd wait for the nexus 6 ;-)
