What happened to custom txt tone & bg?

It used to be if you clicked the three little dots in the upper right hand side of the screen while youre in a message, you could change the mesage background, but more importantly, there was an option to change the notification sound for that contact.

Where are these options please? :(
 
Which texting app are you using? Those options are still available on Samsung messages.

If you are using Google messages click the three dots and then click details. That's where I saw you can change the notification. I don't think you can change the bg on Google messages.

The Google message app is there for each contact

Thanks! That did it for custom notification tone, but im still not seeing where to change the bg.

Im using the mssgs app that came with my phone-i just got it today.

I don't think you can change the bg on Google messages.
 
Mystery solved! I was using google mssgs not samsung. The icons look almost the same so i didnt notice.

With the S22 line, Samsung has switched the default messaging app to Google Messages from Samsung Messages. It's understandable to be confused when used to Samsung's app being the default previously.

That explains it! The icons are so similar too, i had no idea it wasnt my usual mssgs app.
 
Yes I got my phone yesterday icons are similar and very confusing
I think I am using Samsung but not sure lol
