What have you found in froyo?

Not sure if this has been reported or confirmed yet.

But for me after installing Pandora and adding the widget, if I move the app to SD, the widget will no longer will work. The only way to get the widget back is to uninstall and reinstall.

Also whenever I reboot my swype no longer will swype. I can peck out letters, but that's it. But if I switch from swype to stock KB and back to swype, all is well again.

Other than that all is good ;)

Btw, Chrome to Phone is a cool new feature.

I have the same issue with Swype.... Another issue I have had is uploading via WiFi video's to You Tube.... I had tried 3 times and it will go all the way to 100% and say it's done but never shows up on YouTube. I have logged out and back in to YouTube on the phone and then rebooted the phone which is how I found out about Swype not working after a reboot. Just have to switch back to stock and then back to Swype.. Kind of weird...

Trying to upload the same video again.... this will be the 4th attempt...

It really sounds like all this hype was really not worth it, really, it doesn't sound like this update is as groundbreaking as everyone has made it out to be. A flashlight widget???? C'mon, I have had that all along, I want to know the differences in performance.... my Evo is already a high performance phone, how does froyo make it better? Will my battery last longer?

Sorry for the rant, just tired of hearing about silly widget additions and whatnot, I want to know the real advantages to updating to froyo.

The real advantage, as has been stated for months, is performance. 2.2 is, for many things, much faster than 2.1

I can't get Chrome to Phone to work.... I have it installed on the phone and I have the extension on my Chrome Browser.. I click the little android dude and it says "SENT" in red letters but never shows up on the phone... Double checked the phone and Chrome to Phone is installed and I am logged into my gmail account both on the phone and in my browser.... Any suggestions?

little android dude? My icon on chrome is an arrow pointing to a phone. Maybe you have an older extension?

The Flash is awesome. I was able to load up the espn3 stream without a hitch. I am watching the X Games Skateboard Big Air Rail on my EVO right now. No delay compared to my computer viewing the same stream. Even got the picture in picture to load and watched two things at the same time, although it started to get choppy at that point. Anyways, this is sweet!

I applied the update manually and my build/software number begins with "3.26.651.3". In Phil's Evo update from yesterday (7/30), the build/software number begins with "3.25.651.1".

I get the .1 to .3. Sprint temporarily made the update file available and I think I got the final from the site I found. What is with the 3.26 instead of 3.25?

Mine doesn't have a green android symbol, mine is a phone with a yellow arrow pointing to it. Maybe like someone else stated, you have an old version. Worth looking into

I had Chrome-to-phone extension in Chrome for a while now but don't use Chrome normally. I went to it, tried to send a link to the phone by clicking on the phone with an arrow icon and it told me I had an out of date version. Said to uninstall it and install the new one. I uninstalled it and installed the new one and it works. The Firefox version works well too.

Here is a link to the download page. Downloads - chrometophone - Project Hosting on Google Code

My thoughts

Reading through the posts, people say their battery life is poor after the update but my findings are that it's doing great! I've had average usage all day, no 3d gaming or hours of flash sites and internet, but I have 2d gamed (addicted to air control) and watched a couple of flash videos while on wifi and my battery has done great. I had to reboot at around 85 percent and agger 10 hours of being on and used lightly, I was at 51 percent. So I find that as an improvement.

Also this browser is super fast! Fastest one I've ever used on a mobile!

Other enhancements are text selection in a text field in the browser working using a double tap.

Didn't see this mentioned but may have skimmed it, in the marketplace after apps are downloaded you have am option of automatically updating them!

Final thing on flash, if you didn't know, on some videos and games you can push and hold on the video/game and click in to left corner to go into full screen mode for easy viewing/playing.

I have found that my gmail is no longer pushing the email...anyone else find this?...official froyo, not rooted
I'm seeing my main Gmail account working fine, but my secondary account not updating at all unless I do it manually. Battery life has gone straight to Hell though. After only 4 hours and 20 minutes I'm at 50% with light use. I'm using the leaked version from yesterday without rooting; basically stock other than having Froyo a few days early.

is anybody having problems with Unsuccesful downloads of purchased apps that have updates? been trying to download Swarm's new update and it says purchased but it cannot download for some reason. Got the Froyo.

Not sure if this works for the stock Messaging and Email apps (I use K9-Email and Handcent) but when you receive a notification there is a number next to the notification icon indicating how many notifications you have waiting for you.

Calendar: I could never get the sports schedule calendars (Or any other imported calendars) to work, they now due. Plus Events from Facebook

I still can't get this to work. I went to my gmail calendar on my PC and subscribed to an NFL team and an NCAA football team's schedules. It shows on my calendar if I look at them on my PC but they're not syncing to my phone. I've even gone into the accounts & syn setting and manually synced the calendar and it's still not showing.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've never had any of the neat calendars (including sports) that google provides sync correctly to my mobile, even with my blackberry.

Also, I'd just like to throw in my .02 about battery life. Mine is MUCH better. I'd like to know anyone else's stats though, mine are:

16h2m,32s since unplugged, 60% remaining
29% Cell Standby
28% Wi-Fi
26% Phone Idle
11% Android System
4% Display
2% Maps

I haven't made THAT many calls since the last charge, but I have made some. On the old OS, it seemed like the top two battery thieves were android system and cell standby. Nice to see that the system has dropped way down.

I have three email accounts also and only one is pushing.... this makes me angry. Anyone seen a fix????

Sent from my Evo using Tapatalk Pro.

my batt life is so so now. I am seeing partial wake locks from android again like I did before the orig update when the phone first came out.
I got like 18hrs yesterday before 20%. Was very low usage though. Mostly standby.

front face camera option now has mirror mode... so now we can take pictures that arent mirrored on the phone...

dunno if that was already mentioned yet.
