What is CDMA and GSM and will this phone work on my network?

Recently the Galaxy S7 has been announced yet the White Pearl version does not seem to be making its way to North America at all.

I wanted to know if i were to purchase an unlocked version of the phone, would it work on my Bell Canada network?

This is what a seller on Ebay listed the S7 as having:

2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2 (optional)
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE
Speed HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE Cat9 450/50 Mbps

The whole concept of CDMA/GSM/LTE is just confusing, and i really just need to know if this phone will or will not work. I mean, I tried doing research and it seems like Bell runs on a CDMA network but i am not sure....but does that matter when the phone will work on LTE?

It will work but you might not get LTE. You didn't list the lte specs. The phone will still function, just that you might not get fast data speeds

I just took the data from "gsmarena" and currently the for 4G Bands it just says LTE...

will i still be able to make calls and send texts and such?

Yes you can make calls and send texts.

Personally, unless know what you are doing, I would advise you to just get the Bell version. Getting a phone that works well and is supported by the carrier is more important than color, imo.
