I'm thinking the reason Samsung uses two chip families is to save money. Snapdragon is purported to be more efficient with wireless bands and use more features. Also it's my understanding that Asian networks don't use CDMA which only Snapdragon supports. My therory is that Samsung uses their own processors in Asia because they can, and they save $ not having to license Qualcomm chips.Generally we get similar stuff i.e. for Samsung's we get the Snapdragon processors. But I'm talking moreso worldwide. Say what you will about apple but their iPhones are consistent worldwide. An iPhone bought in China has the same features and goodies that an iPhone in the states has.
