What is normal pen pressure?

I am a light writer and I find I have to use substantial weight and push to get the pen to trigger. Just sliding the pen around on the surface does nothing. Anyone think it requires too much pressure to activate?

Before the update, I used pressure similar to using a pen and paper. After the update, I can just slide it along and it takes no pressure to write, just the slightest contact. However, I have found that if I let the S pen tilt too much, it doesn't write at all or it skips. Holding it as a normal pen should allow it to write just fine. If you're starting to write a note or memo it does take a tap or hold on the surface to get the writing capability to load. Does it take the same pressure to activate a link or start an app?

Takes the same amount of pressure for everything. That's why I favor just tapping with my finger if I'm not trying to write. BTW I'm on 4.0.3 on the international version but posted here because there was more traffic and thought they were all the same.

Can you test a different S pen at a store? That would determine whether it's the screen or S pen. Do you totally power off at all? I've had times when the screen is less responsive when on the net and I've found if I power off or use the task manager to go to RAM and close everything, it seems to go back to normal. I hope you find a solution. Using the S pen to write is a big part of what makes the Note so special.

I've tried to duplicate your issue with no success. In order to get no response from the S- Pen I have to barely touch the screen, but otherwise it glides across the surface very smoothly with what seems like normal pressure applied.

Your writing style and input method must be unusually light? Nothing wrong with that, but I'm wondering if this technology can really compensate for it?

Like J HighNote mentioned, I hope a solution can be found. I use the S- Pen extensively and it's one of the joys this device offers.

One other possibility. Go to a store and see if you'd be allowed to try out the S- Pen holder kit. I use this accessory for my main writing. It gives me greater precision and control. I'm wondering if this might assist you?

Galaxy Note! Phone. Tablet. Planner. Notepad. eReader. The only device I need!

I'm probably just a light writer. All the videos I've seen the pen being used, there is a very loud thwack! when they tap the screen with the pen. I can barely hear the pindrop sound when I tap it. Wonder if there is a sensitivity mod or something available. The pen is sort of a novelty for me though.
