What is Sprint's policy on phones not bought from them?

I bought a Nexus S off eBay and some have reported signal issues. If I keep it pass 30 days, will Sprint do an Advance Exchange if something ever occurred with the device such as the signal issue?

I was going to test the phone out before I left feedback incase I had a problem.

Depends on the store. It's not under warranty with them but insurance you can use. The store closest to my house will do nothing for phones I've bought used. But the store where I grew up will usually not even ask and just do what's needed.

Corporate store or reseller? The Nexus I bought is brand new.

I've always found the insurance to be bs imo since even if you do have it, it doesn't help.

Sprint won't be of much help unless you are insured through them, which I'm not sure they even do for phones that weren't purchased from them.

And since you're not the original owner you should see if the factory warranty transfers to you.

Check out SquareTrade. They will insure your item up to the purchase price for defects and damage and guarantee a 5 day turnaround.

Well i remeber a few years back i didn't have insurance on my phone. they told me over the phone to take my phone in to a Sprint store and have them look at the condition of the phone. After they inspected the phone they would tell me if i could insure it . You can call them and ask. If your worried about them linking it to your account them just walk into a store and ask there. good luck

Insurance is for your line, not a specific phone. You can change phones all day on a line with insurance and whatever is active at any given time has insurance.

If I remember correctly, when you ESN/MEID swap a phone onto your existing line, you have a limited amount of time to add insurance to that line (and obviously the phone) regardless of where the phone came from. If you already have insurance on that line, it will transfer over to the new phone regardless of where it came from.
