Self - Insured is best. Set aside $15 a month and as long as you don't damage youe phone yearly you can pay for your own repairs and save money in the long run.
I've been trying to get samsung insurance for the last 3 phones now and the stupid app won't allow me to. Makes me not want to get it considering how poorly implemented the sign up process is.I used to never buy insurance but now use Samsung for $12 a month. I do it for a year then I cancel it when I’m shopping for a new phone.
The thing is that if you do not have insurance through Samsung, the only way to get repair service is through a third party. From what I’ve been told by Samsung, they do not provide repair services unless the product is insured with them. Otherwise they’ll tell you to go to a third party. I was a bit shocked to hear of this, to be honest, because I was willing to pay for a repair to my GS6 edge but they sent me away. LOL

I purchased mine direct from Samsung. Is it on the shop Samsung app?You can only add Samsung premium care if you ordered through Samsung. I've had premium care on my S8+, and Note 8. I bought my Note 9 through best buy, went to transfer and they told me Samsung won't cover any phone's not purchased through Samsung. Crock of S#!+. They didn't bother to mention or give any warning you'd lose your coverage.
You are wrong I had premium care on my s8+ and my note 8 that I got from t-mobile, but samsung has the worst customer service on the planet and are horrible and developing apps. They canceled my premium care on the note 8 and I've not been able to sign up for it since. It's compete garbage, for a company as big as Samsung it's rediculous how poor their customer service is. You can't even call a real person to talk about premium care it's all done through the Samsung plus app which is the worst app ever developed. You can only add Samsung premium care if you ordered through Samsung.
