What is the best tempered glass screen protector for the S7?

I put some info on the "Insane Halo," thread. Zagg and Bodyguardz are similar options with a few key differences.

I don't have a picture of it but a friend of mine got the one from verizon and it fit perfectly, no halo at all. Was very surprised, will be picking one up in the next few days.

Did it fit all the way to the edges, leaving no gap along the sides where the S7 is curved?
I tried the ZAGG one from Verizon and took it back before installing it when I saw that it didn't offer full coverage for the regular S7 (not edge)

I've just bought a Techguard glass screen protector that claims to protect edge-to edge so I'll see whether that's the case this evening! I'll keep you guys and gals updated :)

It cost me £25 so pretty darn expensive but it's the only curved glass screen protector I could find for the S7.

Where did you get this from? I am in the UK also.

In my opinion it did, with the spigen rugged armor case on it you couldn't see any of the screen uncovered except the small area where the ear speaker is and right below the home button of course.

So I've installed the screen protector. It is indeed edge-to edge and fits perfectly, however I immediately notice drawbacks to having it. Firstly, it adds a silvery sparkle effect to the front of the device. Secondly, and most annoyingly, it creates a subtle but noticeable degradation in the quality of the display on white backgrounds. It is not crystal clear and creates a coloured mottled effect, as if the display is permanently moist.

That does not look right. I have a glass protector on my old M8 and it's indistinguishable from the actual screen. Is that a matte version or is there a layer of film still on it?

That's what I thought at first but there's no layer of film on the front, it's just glass.

Edit: I've removed the screen protector. Didn't want it on there. It affected the quality of the display too greatly and seemed to lower the screen sensitivity too; the adhesive it used clearly isn't very high quality. Oh well, a complete waste of £25 😣

Anyone reading this - I do not recommend this screen protector. Yes it may be edge-to-edge and indeed fits perfectly but it impacts the beauty of the display as it is not crystal clear (also the fact that it adds that silver sparkle affect to the surrounding black bezel is a bit annoying)

Cakefish, was the protector itself curved a little bit? As in, if you were to examine it looking at it from top down. Seems like it does an admirable job of not creating a halo effect, but it's such a shame that the adhesive quality ruins the overall quality of the product.

You're right, no halo effect whatsoever. It is indeed curved as it claims. But yeah, the adhesive is not good quality in my opinion. It is quite strong so the protector didn't feel as though it'd fall off anytime soon but it ruined the appearance of the lovely AMOLED display. I have a tempered glass screen protector on my Sony Z5 Compact (that this S7 is replacing) and it's crystal clear - the same can't be said for this S7 screen protector. Such a shame.

Interesting. Perhaps it's due to it being a new product but at 25 GBP a pop, I sure hope they get that fixed soon. I'm going to stick with a traditional PET/plastic screen protector until someone finds an edge-to-edge halo-less TGSP over here in the US.

Its been a while since I've used skins, so is tempered glass worthwhile over a generic skin? I'm looking specifically for something that will help protect (minimally) and hopefully help to provide more grip while keeping the profile of the device as minimal as possible.

It's hard because there are drawbacks to both.

Film Protector: Thinner, cheaper, but feel worse to the touch and gather oil/smudges easier than the glass.
Glass Protector: No distortion, feels like the actual screen, less prone to oil/smudes but generally much thicker than a film version. With a case on my M8 it wasn't an issue but on a naked phone it's fairly pronounced.
