In ROM Manager, what is the file we're supposed to rename so that you don't always have to flash ClockworkMod?

Also, why does it need to be renamed...what happens if you do rename it and what happens if you don't?

How to Install ClockworkMod as seen here - [RECOVERY] ClockworkMod Recovery *CDMA Edition* - xda-developers)

1. Install Root Explorer from the market and delete /system/recovery-from-boot.p *Mount as R/W first* See this link for help
2. Reboot into Fastboot Mode: Power off your device and (Power + Volume Up and Down)
3. Flash CWM (fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-toro.img)
4. Reboot into OS (fastboot reboot)
5. You now have CWM recovery permanently installed.

Thanks for the link. That tells me what to change, but I'm still wondering why? Outside of having to re-press Flash ClockworkMod every time before I press Reboot into recovery, what is my potential problem if I don't rename the file?

It can't overwrite CWM recovery if the file is renamed or deleted because its looking for a specific filename. If you leave that file there on reboot it will flash over CWM recovery with the stock recovery.
