What is the first thing you'll do with your Epic?

Is it odd that we have 3 pages of replies, and no one has mentioned making a phone call?

Who does that anymore? Last month, I used my phone for over 2GB of data and about 15 Minutes (due to night/weekends and cellphones not counting). And those were most likely to my parents when they didn't answer their cellphone.

Type my full name. It's ALWAYS my first test on a phone. If there's one thing I should be able to type without errors it's my name.

Barrage my EVO pal to show just what a difference a hardware keyboard is to me. While I was pleasantly surprised at how I was able to type relatively well on the EVO (in no small part to that GIANT screen) it still wasn't the same as having a hardware keyboard like I've ALWAYS had in the past. I actually found myself texting/emailing less on the EVO. Once I get the Epic- (as long as I actually LIKE the keyboard) I'll be a texting fiend and drive him crazy with all my senseless jibber jabber.

Then I will hope for a HORIZONTAL desktop and car dock.

Then try Google NAVIGATION, while streaming a podcast or Pandora and then have my pal give me a phone call- if the phone doesn't REBOOT like my EVO did- THEN and only THEN will I know the Epic is a keeper.

Then I'll install all the apps I had on my evo and customize the app tray and homescreens.

Then I need someone to explain to me WHY my "Digital Copy" movies that I rightfully own via bluray disk purchase don't run on my shiny new phone and instead ONLY on iphone and my ipod classic!! How is THAT allowed?

I just wonder if you issues with the evo could be software related or should I say app related. Just a thought.

Thats because of the means you get the digital copy. Since you get them through iTunes, you can only put them on ipods/iphones. If you got your digital copy through windows media, you would be able to put them on windows capable devices. Some even allow me to get them through Sony, so I could, in theory, put them on my ps3, which wouldn't make sense since I have the bluray, or on an psp.

rufflez- I understand their thoughts- I just think it unfair- it's my digital copy to use WHERE I want... or it should be. Otherwise I demand they change the name to RESTRICTIVE Copy. LOL.

Sel1965: I wondered the same thing- so I removed ALL APPS and turned off live wallpapers- even did factory reset. Had issues prior AND after the OTA. Sprint said they had a few bad hardware batches- but after my PRE experience, (4 phones in a year) due to faulty build quality, I have ZERO patience. I had many other issues with microphone sensitivity, poor Bluetooth connectivity compared to past phones, and a variety of other opinions/issues than it was worth to justify keeping that gorgeous screen.

If I don't have a good experience in 30days- I need to move elsewhere. If the Epic is terrible- I may get an EVO again and see if my experience is improved vs. previous.

I'm going to use the voice search and tell it to navigate to the nearest mcdonalds, even though i already know where it is.

Great minds think alike... thats the first place i had my Hero Navigate me to with voice search when I put the first 2.1 ROM on it.

That must be a crazy as s name you have

Not really but if there is one thing you type consistently over and over in life (and should be able to do so without typos) it's your full name. Some people use a test sentence. I use my name.

Probably fumble around for a few hours trying to get used to Touchwiz.

Then annoy all my friends for a few hours by sending test tweets, IMs, and email.

Actually, these tasks can probably be done concurrently. :)

Actually, I think they can, I think touchwiz combines a lot of that into 1 app, like synergy with messages and im being 1 app.
