What is Your Biggest Reason for Wanting a Motorola X?

The 15th will be very interesting! Good luck to all of you. I hope you all pre-ordered. It will be a month before anyone else will see one.

I want away from ATT. My friends and family members told me I'd not be happy with them after being with VZW for 15 years or so - but I HAD to get iPhone 3GS's for my wife and I. Relatively happy with the iPhone - notsomuch with ATT though. Constant billing disputes - dropped calls etc. Byebye ATT.

Several of us on this forum are (I would imagine) IT people, myself included. But I've never owned a laptop. Not that I'll be using it for work per se, but do like being connected to those Internets as much as possible. I've had a Blackjack for several years but didn't want to pay for the data package (screen too small, limited functionality, etc), but liked the QWERTY keys and to do, alarms, etc on-board. Now I'm in a position to afford it. I'll be enjoying the Droid X mostly for it's video, WiFi or 3G Internet connection practically anywhere, podcasts, music, GPS, PDA functions, Google integration (although I forward Gmail to my Hotmail just so I can SORT email by columns like every other email client on the planet...geezit Google), um, FM Radio -- yes I'll use it for NPR, etc. I also support the open source community so that is just a bonus.

Many reasons:
1)Verizon
2)My first android phone
3)Tired of tmobile's horrible service where I live, although I do give it up that tmobile was nice enough to end my contract early without etfs because of this
4)Big is beautiful
5)Not give into apple's evil ways
6)Motorola's craftsmanship making phones

Overall super excited about getting a android phone and the droid x looks like a great first.

Honestly... Everything about the phone rocks, but what I'm most excited for is the speed. Mostly of the browser.

I never have the patience to wait for my BB Tour to load up pages and when it finally does it's pretty slow. I'm just happy I'll finally be able to browse my favorite message boards from anywhere and have the experience be just about as good as my computer. :)

Forgot to mention tethering!!! That is going to be awesome! The GF's place doesn't have internet and although my X's screen will be big and beautiful enough to watch Youtube on, I'm pretty stoked we will be able to browse with our laptops thanks to tethering. :D

1. Wanting to get rid of my awful Tour.
2. The awesomeness that is the screen.
3. Replace my iPod touch (buh-bye, first gen).
4. Did I mention getting rid of my Tour?

I keep telling myself that it's huge... Even with a to-scale printout I made it's not bad but damn it's daunting.

For a specific feature I would say that I'm most excited for GPS navigation, but it is my first smartphone so it truly is the whole package that I am excited for.

Damn dude, i thought i had it bad. Your making full scale printout's of the thing?

Yeah thanks for the idea, i'm doing it now!

... My newest reasons...
1.) Death to blackberry!!!
2.) Death to blackberry!!!

If I saved the PSD file I would send it to you... Got it with like 97% accuracy... Unfortunately they didn't have a right side press image so you have to flip the left side image and getting it curved properly takes a bit of time.

No... I don't have a problem.

LOL...no, not at all.

For me the main reasons would be:
1. 8GB of internal memory storage for apps! (I think that's the worst part of the Droid, only having 256MB of storage for apps is a joke)
2. 1Ghz Processor
3. 8MP Camera
4. Larger screen

Unfortunately I can't upgrade but I'm that upset. I am happy with the original Droid.

That's not so bad. Wasn't there some wanker who carved one out of a piece of plywood to carry around in his pocket for 2 weeks?

Hmmmmmm, my reaons for wanting a DX in no particular order are.

My EnvTouch is falling apart & Im on my 3rd Touch.
Im an IT Admin (yes there are more of us) so I may use it for work.
Verizon coverage is AWESOME.
I want to support Androids putting nails in the coffin of Apples OS.
Ive got to have the latest & greatest technology & right now its the DX.

Had an Incredible on order, got tired of the wait and the possibility for no replacement devices in the event of a bug/hardware problem.

Tried out both the DX and Incredible in store. The bigger screen really pops and that GPU will help anything graphical to really fly. Add to that 720p video out of the box for recording and Android 2.2 in the summer. That was about all it took.
