There are a lot of reasons for wanting a Motorola X. It defines the high end of the market. But there is another reason that many reviewer's are not remembering:
Coverage
Verizon really does have by far the best national coverage. Who cares how great your phone is if it is just a paper weight. Every time we go somewhere with poor cell coverage, we know to ask the guys with Verizon and they always seem to have full bars.
Always. In a meeting room deep in a building. On a canoe trip. Always.
I knew that Verizon had a huge lead over everyone else but it was only when I put the free Sensorly app on my phone that I saw how huge the difference is. It let's you zoom in on your area and click between Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and other coverage maps. Show your iPhone friends why they can't make a call.
In my area it is obvious why my Sprint service is so bad.
So as much as I love my EVO, I am envious of your coverage. Because at the end of the day, it's a phone. And a phone is only as good as the service.
