What is your opinion..is a Factory Data Reset Necessary?

Hi just wondering if its recommended once you get your phone?

Recommended, yes. Necessary, no.

I was of the mindset that you should wipe this phone before initial setup but yesterday I was in a rush and said screw it. I just looked at my battery stats before tossing my phone on the charge to top off since Im headed out all day. I was at 86% and had 1 hour 42 minutes screen on time and no lag or hiccups at all.

My previous 2 G6's I wiped before each setup and maintained consistent 6 1/2 hours screen on time.

I wont be wiping it unless something screwy happens.

Ok good to know. Previous 2 G6's?? Lol oh ok...see previous threads. I guess you're here to stay now.

I like to reset after large updates or if I'm having some funky issues I can't figure.

I'm not really put off by setting up my phone anew. 😁

Sometimes because of Quality Control...its been used.

If you have bought a new phone that's been previously used, the first thing to do is document the incident and then go back to the seller and get a replacement. If that 'quality control' excuse was what they told you and you've encountered this kind of issue before from the same seller, there's a good chance they're doing some really dodgy things to the products they sell, find another source.
