what legitimate defense does HTC have for putting MicroSD card slot in the One for just one country?

No point missed. You're reluctant to compromise. You will never be happy.

Again. No greatest phone for all. No perfect carrier for all. Only perfect for you.

Go ahead and reply if you need the last word.

LOL, I'm sure I will be quite happy thank you very much. but if I am dropping $500 or $600 on a device, it darn well better do what I want and be on a carrier that isn't unreliable. It's not a cup of coffee I'm buying here. It's a fairly substantial purchase that should last me for a few years at least, if not even longer. Your idea of compromise is for me to either be on a carrier with horrible service or have a phone that doesn't meet my needs. Now why would I pay money to a carrier with slow or non-existant service or live with a phone for two years that I do not like? Car salesmen must love you. You'll take anything apparently. I won't. The larger the purchase, and the longer I will have to live with it, the more selective I am.

And interesting that you didn't answer my questions. Very very interesting.

I feel like you are nitpicking every little thing about every phone out and enjoy complaining and arguing about the reason you are nitpicking...

I think there is a pretty distinct paradigm imbalance here... We have two extremes (with everything in between) of people who buy a new phone every month or two to people who want the device to last for several years. These differing perceptions of valuable qualities in devices may in part stem from some people considering it a relatively minor purchase, "it's just a phone, I'll get another when I want one" to, "this is ties me into a 2 year contract" or maybe even, "I saved up for this", etc.

As the intended usage in terms of expected durability and longevity, as well as intended functionality differ greatly between individuals, we may find ourselves using similar words, that without context have wholly different meanings that are not being conveyed. It might help to try to understand the other person's point of view and from which vantage it observes the situation; not sure.

Lol...wow. Wanting a carrier to not have horrible data speeds or wanting them to actually have a signal in the areas I travel is now nitpicking? Wanting to not run out of room on something or actually be able to see a display or fit it in my pocket is nitpicking? Hardly. Man some of you sure have low standards. And if you are only focusing on the negative points, then you aren't looking very close. I've said good things about the One right here in this very thread as well as other threads. If you don't see that, and if you think legitimate issues are nitpicking then we have nothing further to say to one another.

EXCELLENT point. I never thought about that. I think you may be on to something. Still, I do not understand why some people here need to constantly criticize what other people want. Personally I do not care what other people want or insist they buy what I find useful. So it makes me wonder why they care about what I buy. Just to start arguments? Buy what makes you happy people! However I ask for the same courtesy in return.

Boom.

If the a phone doesn't meet your needs, don't buy it.

If a carrier doesn't meet your needs, don't sign up.

There will always be a compromise.

But...that is the topic. The OP has received numerous suggestions from multiple members and reacts badly to all of them. The posts that preceded your warning dealt with the topic as it stands, which is that no handset will be good enough for the OP and his expectations are unreasonable. Frankly, this thread should have been closed after the second page, because it serves no purpose for anyone, besides creating a forum for the OP to argue.

No, the thread is about the reason why HTC included an sd for the ONE in a different market, but not for the US market. The topic IS NOT about whether or not any device is good enough to suit the op's needs.

Now that I've had to explain myself, I'm going ask once again, that we keep the thread on the topic it was intended to be, not the "topic as it stands" or what it has otherwise been rabbit trailed to.

To that I will say: close the thread. The original topic has not been discussed since the second page. The topic is too far gone to make getting back on topic possible.

The thread stays open for now. Stop backseat moderating and arguing with a moderator. If you have nothing to add to the discussion, then just move on to another thread. Nobody is forcing you to post here.

No answer will be good enough for those that want to tell HTC how to run their business.

There is no arguing. The moderator posted a warning asking people to get back on topic, when the thread has not been on topic for almost 8 pages. It's like pissing in the wind. There is literally nothing of value that this thread can provide any longer. It is just giving one member a forum to argue about something that is unrelated to the topic of this thread.

JHBThree,

If you would like to PM me regarding this subject, feel free. But I have asked twice now for you to drop it and let the thread return to its original topic. If no one posts anything relevent to the original topic, it will die. But as long as you continue to prolong the off topic bickering and arguing over whether or not you are arguing, the thread will continue to be bumped to the top. Please do not continue this subject publically.

I think each side has established that this thread has run its course. For those who want to follow up with the moderator team, do so via PM.
