I have been digging and digging but no luck on how to exactly get a download of FROYO and how to install it on my new EVO. I'm very new to Android, coming from the PRE. If anyone can help then please post. Thanks

rufflez I know you don't have an EVO yet, but I was curious if you or anybody else could give me a feel as to how stable/usable the froyo build is so far. I'm new to Android (not really new to phone/PDA hacking) and I'm now running Fresh as my day to day. I tried out one of the stripped AOSP-like ones also, but didn't feel like investing the time to get it set up far enough to use as a day-to-day.

Does froyo look like it is to the point that a newbie could feel confident in installing it to try out. Or even as a day-to-day (knowing the cameras still don't work)?

if memory servers, phil already threw it on. search the main paige and see for yourself.

The froyo rom right now is based off of the nexus one rom, not really the best for every day use.I would use your fresh rom for the time being.

V7 is fine for everyday use. Only two thing don't work properly the camera and picture mail. Sms works fine. Everything else works great. I'm running it now.

Question guys: I'm running Fresh (which is great!) but I also have Froyo available through ROM manager and I can flash between them (which is awesome!). Anyhoo--I noticed that when I was in Froyo, my roaming indicator was on. This kinda freaked me out cuz of the roaming charges. I looked up info. online to see if it is only the indicator that is screwy or if I am ACTUALLY roaming and being billed for roaming. When I saw it, I quickly flashed back to Fresh. I'd like to keep Froyo just to watch Hulu BUT I don't want to be charged for roaming. Anybody know the answer to my dilemma?

Thanks!

i installed it last night. very very nice. not really a daily driver, no camera, several apps don't seem to install. but its fast, and makes me really want to run aosp roms. hope we get some full featured 2.1 aosp roms soon.

Sprint doesn't charge for roaming in the US?

Not sure what froyo ROM you were running but if it was EVOlution then the always roaming indicator problem has been fixed.

Hey guys I don't mean to change the subject but we need to get back on the TOPIC of this thread. If you guys are having problems with your flashed ROMS then you need to post your questions or concerns on thier threads so that they can get your feedback and fix what needs to be fixed or give you the best advice on thier ROM. Thanks
