What radio is best on Froyo?

aight thanks, yah I was talking about Nitro's. Still prob wont flash it cause im using the Modem already and 2.9.2 is still awesome in my book.

I'm of the same mindset right now. My setup is running great after less than one day. I'm monitoring Nitro's EC01 thread to see what people are reporting. If I like what I see I will give it a try as it will basically be an EC01 SC ROM. My setup:

SC 2.9.2
EC01 modem
Times_Infinity's ComaVolt voodoo kernel
NitroVivid theme

This is my setup EC10rom+EC01radio+Nemesis2all OC'd Voodoo 1.2ghz
Result---->Quadrant @ 2154----->Linpack MFLOPS 17.137.... did this in one try!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: Battery life so far so good, I started @ 100% its been 12hrs now i still have 71% left not bad for stock combination.

I could give a rats pooper about quad scores so i dont voodoo. I'mrunning ec01 modem, sc 2.9.2 and comavolts nv kernel. I'm after good battery and smooth running phone. Everything is great except battery. I'm still waiting for someone to comment on battery. Also the Rom is non voodoo I imagine since it is without kernel. At least I think.

ROMs by themselves are neither voodoo nor nonvoodoo. It is the kernel that is voodoo or nonvoodoo. When you see a ROM listed as voodoo or nonvoodoo it is because the ROM includes either a voodoo or nonvoodoo kernel.

ty sharky always keep me learning....Im still scared to flash a full rom as you know!!! I want an ODIN!!! LOL ill sac up if people say the battery is good on it, or when that community one shows up

Yeah 15. I don't know but it seems my gps would lock faster with ebo1. Does anyone have the link to download eb01 ? Might give it some more time and test it out more.

Try flashing the modem in ODIN again. A lot of people are reporting all around better performance when flashing the modem in ODIN, ROM in CWM, then reflashing the modem in ODIN.

May as well try, no data wipe needed. It might be a bit smoother, might be placebo. Easy to go back if you don't like.

Thanks NOsquid. Now with source code released, I'm going to sit on my 2.9.2 set up and wait for whatever the devs roll out. I can handle waiting 2 or 3 weeks or however long it takes. I know it probably won't take that long, just sending a message out to let anyone expecting things to roll out in the next few hours that they need to be patient, and things will roll out when they roll out.

Yeah i just flashed the radio and still running sc 2.9.2 maybe thats why i dont see much difference. The GPS takes longer on the first time to lock up. If i quit nav, turn gps off, then run it all again the gps locks in 5 seconds. I know with EBO1 the initial lock was faster.

Am i going to run into problems in the future since the baseband and build number dont match?

Baseband version is V.EC01 and Build number is EB01

Not likely since both are Froyo. Other people have had no problems using the DL09 (Eclair) modem with the EB01 (Froyo) build, so you are completely safe with EC01 (ED01) and EB01.

Can anyone provide me with a link for EB01? I think i want to go back to that. I tried looking but no luck....im sure i overlooked it somehow.

Great! Followed Landshark's advice on 2nd flash and everything was back up to speed and then some. The 1st flash I noticed a huge drop in battery life all of the sudden. I went from 41% pre flash, to 22% once I booted up after flash... I also noticed GPS was about 30+ meters away from my location. Now on 2nd flash... Once I booted up I was at a sensible 35% and my GPS was right on spot! Now I've only had the ec01 for 15 mins so I'll report back on any other findings. Oh and I'm also hitting 700kbps as opposed to 400kbps on eb01. Still can't watch adult swim vid clips though, lol...

I guess this was actually the second post in your double posting, so I will repeat. Please don't cross post meaning posting the same question or request in multiple threads. We all just had to go through the process just recently where before we could post again we all had to read the forum rules & guidelines, then acknowledge we read it. I reread the rules for the umpteenth time just in case anything had been added or changed. Not too much to ask I think.

Hmmm... While the load time was great on the desktop version of pocketnow.com, there was noticeable choppy-ness when scrolling. I'm noticing this on other flash heavy sites as well. I didn't notice this before & I think web scrolling might have been smoother on eb01. Need to test more though

Sorry landshark :( wont do it again.

I know I'm the extreme minority, but I flashed the Odin'd the radio on mine running (mostly) stock EB01 (the horror...) and so far it's working great. From what I understand, EC01 and ED01 are pretty much the same, right?
