I use a Samsung 256GB EVO+ in my S8+ and Tab S2 and it works great. It is capable or using up to 1TB microSD cards. However, there are no 1TB microSD cards available. If you find a 1TB microSD card, it is fake. Eventually, 512GB and 1024GB (1TB) microSD cards will be available.

Correction: It can us up to 2TB microSD cards.

256 is a lot for me. I've gone as high as 128 but right now I have a 64 in the phone with 17gb free space.

I purchased a Samsung EVO 128GB for $44 on Amazon. 256GB was $150. I'll wait for prices to come down then use the 128 in My Nikon D7200

256 gb is the max

Not true. The S8/S8+ (most devices made in the past for years) can read/write microSD cards up to 2TB. Currently, the largest available is 400GB, which is made by SanDisk.

With that said, I'm using the Samsung 256GB EVO+, which I recommend. I'm certain Samsung (as well as other makers) is going to release a larger capacity cards within the next year.

Yes, it can use a 1TB microSD. The maximum size the S8/S8+ can read is up to 2TB. However, the largest currently available is a 400GB microSD card made by SanDisk.

I posted about 256 GB cards being the max on 8/24. The first articles I see about the 400 GB card were posted on 8/31.
