So I'm looking to buy my girlfriend a phone for her birthday and it's between the g2, HTC one and the x phone. I like all 3 but honestly I just love the look of the g2 and think it's a pretty good phone all around. Which one do you guys think I should get for her?

I would say whichever one you think fits her style more. I mean obviously most of us here love our G2s and we would recommend the phone to anyone, but the best thing to do is go check all three of them out yourself and base your decision on which you think she would like the best. All 3 phones are great in their own right, but all 3 are different from each other as well. That's why it's usually best for the person using it to pick, but if you know her well enough, just get the one you think she will like.

I really like my g2 except for the fact that the call reception sucks. It is unbelievable how bad the speakers sound when talking on this device.

I must just have incredible luck because I have no issues at all with call quality and/or reception. So far this has been the best phone I've owned in regard to reception and call quality.

I would have to say that you must be lucky. My family and I renewed our family plan and three of us went with the LG g2 and all three of them were bad. Plus I've already taken mine back once, so that makes four phones out of four that were not just bad, they are awful.

None of us are keeping them.

My wife and I both have the G2. Phones are great. No call issues at all. In fact, I think it is one of the best phones I have ever owned in all respects. Screen is awesome and it is fast. I wouldn't trade it for any of those other phones ir any other phone.

Zero call quality here as well on VZW in Phoenix. Way better than my previous note 2.

Nobody can tell when I'm on speaker phone when making calls

You must be the most unlucky person in the world or a complete troll with 3 post. My G2 sounds much better than my Evo 4g lte did I've had zero reception issues the same goes for the vast majority of people with the G2.

Well whats important to her? Battery life on the G2 is much better then HTC one or Moto X, G2 also charges faster(quickcharge 2.0). The screen on the One and G2 are basically the same when it comes to quality so no difference there. G2 is faster, same storage. I would obviously say to go with the G2 but maybe she is really into loud speakers ??Boomsound is awesome on the Htc One.

in my humble opinion I think g2 is more of a great geeky phone( i love it ) but the moto x is more of a general purpose phone for the masses , pleasant to hold and the few features it has, does it well and easy as 1,2,3 to use. So unless she is a techno nerd I would say get the x.

Thanks for all your help guys. I Still can't make a decision. You made me like the g2 even more but she still doesn't know which one she wants

This person is not a troll...I personally bought and returned two LG G2's from Verizon because of call quality issues and haven't wanted to attempt it again, but I may at some point and hopefully the 3rd time's a charm. Here is a thread on AC, where more folks have had call quality issues with their Verizon LG G2...http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...tatic-crackles-pops-squeals-during-calls.html

If it's about one handed use then the Moto X is the winner hands down. If she doesn't mind a larger phone then the G2 is a great choice. Personally, the G2 has kicked the **** on my S3 on things like call quality, signal quality (both voice and data), and even bluetooth - I used to have issues with holding my S3 and getting stuttering on my bluetooth headset while listening to podcasts, and also WiFi reception and range has been better than the S3. The G2 easily has the best battery life of any phone I've had (never had any of the Maxxes). I don't think you can go wrong with any of them - I got the G2 over the Moto X because I got tired of waiting for a 32 GB model on Verizon (got the G2 in Sept during a sale for only $139.99 and haven't looked back).

I love my G2, hands down the best phone I have every owned! No problems at all with mine so far, and the radios are great! So far this month I have used 13GB of data and if I keep the avg up will hit 23GB at the end of the cycle. That is just LTE not including WiFi. So I use my phone a lot.

I've had zero problems with the reception. Granted, it's only been a day in a half, but I've loved everything about it so far.
