what was your first smartphone?

You have got to be kidding, Mezzanine7, but I'll post a picture of my first phone, a Motorola MicroTAC (the real one is in the garage, so it's easier to find a picture on line):

It's from the very early 1980s, as near as I can recall. "Storage? What's storage?"

My first phone was the Motorola Ultra Classic with the 6 inch screw on antenna, somewhere around 1988/89.

My wife and I loved the keyboard so much we went with the second version of it too. We were really disappointed when they discontinued the slide out keyboard styles.

I too loved the slide-out keyboard look. That's why I really loved the BlackBerry Torch.

The Palm Centro

This opened my eyes to a new world. The unfortunate part was I discovered this way too late, which was right around the time they were about to develop WebOS. I got this phone around mid to late 2009 and enjoyed it. Put a NES rom on there, took it to class to type my notes on (because my handwriting was horrible), felt more organized and focused, like it was everything I could want in a phone and more. I really enjoyed this device and really wanted to see Palm come back with something like this, and not this stupid supplemental phone they are releasing

Palm Treo 600 from 2003 here... can't seem to get my photo to upload though...

hmmm, so all the photos loaded despite the error messages... weird

I would've loved a Palm Treo! Heck, I'd probably love one now... 😁

It was a rugged and dandy little phone... but data plans were expensive, so I had mine blocked... I only ever synched it with my computers... what a chore that sometimes became... but they were cooler than cool back then @Morty2264...

I would've loved to have owned one then! That's too bad that the data plans were expensive!

I LOVED the Nokia Lumia series! I have always wanted one!

I started on that Lumia 520, moved up to a 640 for a little over a year before getting my 950XL. I still have the 520 and 950XL, but I sold my 640 to a coworker about 6 months ago. The 950XL is my backup phone, and my go-to for incredible photos.

The 950 XL sounds awesome! I was definitely interested in that one as well.

I remember, I was into PayGo service and buying Sony Ericsson phones. I loved them!!! Do they count at Smart Phones?

Anyways, after I started noticing I was spending too much 2009 I finally signed up on a contract...

BlackBerry Bold 9000 was my first, in fact I was a CrackBerry user I had 4-5 until I switched back and forth with iPhone and android.

HTC 7 Trophy T8686 hand me down that was used by BOTH parents before I got it. My first Android was the Lenovo A369i (aka "Lenovo Snail") that came with 4.2.2 and can miraculously run LOS14.1 and go online with MT6572 OC-ed to 1.5GHz and only 470MB system memory (512MB RAM total).
