what was your first smartphone?

I think I will have most folks beat...

I see your palm treo and raise you a Kyocera (Qualcomm) 7135 hybrid flip phone palm pilot.

Yes I was made fun of by some for having a computer in my pocket but now I just feel like I (and most of the people here) were on the right side of history.

My first smartphone was the Nokia e71x
nokia-e71x-full-1.jpg

I sold it to a friend a couple of years later when I picked up a Nexus One.

I had the Motorola A1200, linux based that I imported from HK around 2005 sometime. It was the talk of everyone at work and got more looks than any phone I've owned to date.

iPhone 3G was my first smartphone.
My first Android phone was the Motorola Droid.

Both of these phones were fantastic, but I definitely liked the iPhone more. I had to switch because I was moving to a place that had no AT&T service and had to change to Verizon, which led me to the Droid. That was a really cool phone though, I really liked the sliding keyboard.

Loved my Treos but I also loved my Siemens SX66. I wasn't OS faithful back then either.

Mine was the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch. I think I just got carpal tunnel from typing that all out.

My first smartphone was a Neopoint 1000 that I purchased in the summer of 2000.

In 2001, I went to a Samsung i300 which is still one of my all time favorites. It has been downhill since.

Helio Ocean in 2007
It had better specs than first gen iPhone
Duel slider phone with Google maps, but a wierd OS that used third party apps that must be written in wipi java and wipi c, which are languages little known outside of Korea.

Well... officially I purchased the MPx-200 from an overseas vendor and waited about a month for it to arrive. After a week of use the '8' key stopped working and had to go through hell to return it. I used my trusty old Motorola v60 until I had the chance to purchase the Audiovox SMT-5600 which I could say was my first smartphone since I used it for over a year. I loved that little phone but still wished my 200 wasn't broken.

Wow, this has been a great thread. Thanks everybody for your input. Its interesting to see how phones have upgraded (or in some cases even downgraded IMO) over the years.

I totally wanted this phone but couldn't justify the cost. Even now, I'm envious of you!

I had the Palm Pre, loved it i thought it worked really well with how it connected to everything and group it together. battery life on it was shocking though was always having to keep it on charge to get through the day. shame Palm didn't survive through it but the OS lives on in TV's now
