what was your first smartphone?

I see your palm treo and raise you a Kyocera (Qualcomm) 7135 hybrid flip phone palm pilot.

Yes I was made fun of by some for having a computer in my pocket but now I just feel like I (and most of the people here) were on the right side of history.

Had one of these after my 6035. I have to say that the 7135 was probably one of my favorites.

My first smartphone was a Neopoint 1000 that I purchased in the summer of 2000.

In 2001, I went to a Samsung i300 which is still one of my all time favorites. It has been downhill since.

Complete Smartphone History: Neopoint 1000, I300, Treo 300, i330, Toshiba 2032, Treo 600, Sony T608/UX50, I500,Treo 600, G1000, Treo 650, PPC-6600, PPC-6700, Treo 650, Blackberry 7250, Treo 700wx, Motorola Q, PPC-6800, 700wx, Motorola Q9c, Sprint Touch, Sprint ACE, 700wx, 800w, Touch Pro, 800w, Touch Diamond, 800w, Treo Pro, Palm Pre, HTC Hero, Palm Pre, EVO 4G, EVO 3D, Epic Touch, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note 2, Nexus 5, Note 3, LG G3, Nexus 6, S6 edge+, Galaxy Note 7, Pixel XL, S8+, Note 8, S9+

That's a lot of phones 😁

I think I may have kenorian and torbach1 - and even y2whisper - beat with a USR Palm Pilot (in the mid or late 90s) I guess my MicroTAC from 1990 doesn't even count as a dumb phone.

In 2009 I got a palm pre on Sprint. I loved it so much I used it for two years until it became too slow to tolerate, then I switched to Verizon for a pre 2. Got a pre 3 somehow, even though it was never officially released. Used webOS for 4 years and held out as long as I could. Went to T-Mobile and got a BlackBerry Z10 the day my contract expired because f Verizon. Switched to Android in 2016 because BlackBerry went googly and I had to accept that Android was the future.

My first smartphone was the Samsung Galaxy Note II. My mom gave it to me shortly after my Nexus 7 (2012) broke back in December 2013.

Since I didn't have a contract with Verizon at the time, I just used Google Voice on it.

I used it for three years until I got my mom's Galaxy Note 4 in August 2016.

It was a really good phone until the S Pen broke and it started getting slow.

One thing that I remember the most about this phone was S Voice.

I remember talking to Galaxy a lot. Years before I used Cortana, Alexa and Google Assistant.

That is amazing, OP! My first smartphone was a white BlackBerry Bold 9780. Loved that phone and still do! I still have it somewhere. I also loved how BlackBerry gave their phone four-digit numbers and had a few separate device lines (Bold, Torch, Curve). I only ever had Bold but I would've loved to have gotten my hands on a BlackBerry Torch. Keep waiting for them to make a phone like it in present-day.

Great thread, thanks for sharing!

My first smartphone was the Samsung Moment. I've been a Samsung Fan Boy ever since. And a Galaxy Note man at that. Moment, Note 2, Note 3, S6, Note 5, s8, s9+, and Note 8. Guess I'm a true Samsung Fan Boy. Now let's bring on
the Note 9.

I started off with the Motorola MPx220. Windows Mobile 2003 in a flip phone package.

First smartphone was a Blackberry Storm. Followed that with a Storm 2 that Blackberry gave me, before I finally tried a Samsung Fascinate to lead me into the Android era.

A Windows phone in 2011 which led me to the Motorola droids. Now the iphone prevails.
