I'm going to copy this over from another thread that I posted it on.
Comming from BlackBerry 10 the whole of seems disorganised. On BlackBerry 10 I have the hub and all the information I need from my notifications doesn't go away so it's been an adjustment now that I'm comming back to Android. What struck me about the phone was how light the device is. It feels just like my CR-48 but that's both good and bad. I mean I love the feel like I'm using a prototype piece of hardware. But I don't like how unfinished it feels. It's going to take some adjustments but the screen size it's bigger than my Z10 and loads more than my Q10.
It just feels so weird now. Android does. I can't help but think I am missing out when I'm not using my BlackBerry. Something I feel is missing and I just can't figure it out.

I feel that Android is as organized or as disorganized as you make it. There are lots of ways to customize your homescreen to make it very organized indeed. I have a big clock widget on my main homescreen along with a number of my most frequently used app shortcuts, then on the next homescreen, I have all of my other important apps organized into folders. Nothing is more than a couple of taps or swipes away. There may be lots of system settings to wade through if you want to adjust them, but I find that to be more advantageous than being locked out of many settings, and having the device dictate to me what the best way to do things is.

I had the Note 3 then traded that for a Nexus 5 and now I have the iPhone 5S. I would say that on the whole, I liked the Note 3 slightly better than the Nexus 5 (mainly due to the screen). The performance on the Nexus 5 was blazing fast though. I really enjoyed stock Android and really didn't have any issues with it other than the battery life. This is what initially led me to getting the 5S. Now, people have made claims that the battery life of the iPhone isn't that great and definitely not better than the Note 3. But I would say that it depends on how you use the device. I don't use my phone to watch a lot of videos or play games (other than Words With Friends). So, just using my device for calls, texts, emails, music, and information management I have about 75 percent left when I get home. That's huge for me. Nexus 5 couldn't make it until the end of my day. Would die somewhere around 2-3 pm and I get off at 4:30. The Note 3 was better with actual on screen time. I could play movies or games a lot longer than I could on my iPhone, but the standby time was significantly less in my experience. If I used my phone normally, I would have about 35-40 percent left when I got home from work. That's about half of what my iPhone gives me. This is and the Apple ecosystem is why I chose to go to the iPhone...again. The Nexus 5 is a great device though. And for the money, there isn't a rival. I just wished the battery life was a lot better. If that wasn't such an issue, I would probably still have one today. And the other thing that I miss about the Nexus 5 and Note 3 is the notification light.

Freeing myself from carrier restrictions aside, I also appreciate the fact that at least my phone will get all the latest updates for a time and it'll be easy enough to do it on my own should Google stop support in the future. Although I'm sure I'll be on the next generation phone by that point anyways.

I get your meaning. See like for me in BB10 everything had a place. The hub was always to my left my calendar notifications were always on my lockscreen I didn't have to jump from app to app or setup special widgets. I feel like Android gives me too much basicallity so that I can do exactly as I please. It's a learning curve again.

Battery life is almost double. Display is even better. Double the storage. USB OTG actually works. Calls sound better. Processor is way way faster. And as low-lag as the nexus 4 was, the nexus 5 is even better. And of course the camera is dramatically better.
Nexus 4. And yeah, the Nexus 5 is better in every way...sometimes significantly better. The only thing I miss from the Nexus 4 is the curved glass on the front. That was pretty nice.

Don't miss them one bit! Nexus 5 is so big, beautiful and FAST. I would never go back.

I came from the HTC One-S (the smaller one). I like the N5 better for everything but music. The beats audio built into the One-S is so much better. I kept the HTC. It is a fully functional remote control, internet and music device. I use it to control my Sonos system, and to stream music when I use headphones.

i had an LG G2 before the Nexus 5.
the g2 had, imho, a much better camera sensor and the software to go with it, amaaaazing battery life (with my usage, i'd average 50 hours off-charger), and the screen (colors, brightness, real estate) was just better to me.
i've come to peace with these perceived shortcomings on the n5. other than my wife (who is coming from an iphone 4s), no one else in our circle of friends/acquaintances, or even at work has a n5 so we are "unique". i like that

Beyond being a superior experience, my phone bill also dropped from $95/month to $30/month. Cheapest cellular bill I've ever had in my entire life dating back to over a decade ago.

For everyone coming from iPhone 4/4s, how does the screen compare? I'm looking to replace my 4s with a N5 and I hear that the screen is not the best. If it's at least as good as my old iPhone, I'll be happy. I know the resolution is higher, but how does the color and viewing angles compare?

I came from the iPhone 5s. Many reasons drew me across, I've been with iPhone for many years now, occasionally swapping to another platform only to swap back shortly, usually due to laghing . The Nexus 5 dissent have any lagging, so I think I'll be sticking.

The Nexus actually does well on color accuracy. And has a far higher PPI. The additional PPI is something a lot of people would not care about (326PPI is certainly very good), but for me, it is a luxury to see no pixels no matter how close I hold the phone. The Nexus is also awesome for outdoor viewing...I can read it in direct sunlight with sunglasses on easily.
Except for the PPI/Resolution, I have always been impressed with iPhone displays. The quality is definitely there.

From what I have seen, view angles are not as good. They are decent but not great. You can read the screen from any angle, but there is still some distortion. The iPhones have this too, but to a far lesser degree. The iPhones also seem to have a thinner depth do them...the display seems closer to the surface than with the Nexus (which is probably why they have so little light bleed).

By far the biggest leap for me was captivate to Galaxy nexus..and never looked back since!
As long as Google continues to produce nexus devices.. I am all for it!
My motive behind n4 to n5 upgrade was:
1. 16gb to 32gb upgrade
2. Better camera optics
3. Better screen display
4. LTE
I've been very happy with the device and most likely going to skip the next nexus device unless Google produces some ground breaking product!
