So I just to flash over AOSPCMod to my V, and something went wrong. I will recount my steps here to see if anyone can help out.

1. I downloaded ROM Manager from the market.
A. I clicked the top option, to "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery". It now says "Current Recovery: ClockworkMod 3.2.0.0.
B. I clicked "Backup Current Rom". It backed it up.
2. I downloaded all of the files found in this post.
3. I copied the files to the root of my SD Card. It is the same one that came with my phone.
4. I went back in to ROM Manager, and clicked "Reboot into Recovery"
5. I clicked "wipe cache partition"
5. I clicked "Advanced", then "wipe dalvik cache"
6. I clicked "Mounts and storage", then formatted
A. Data
B. Cache
C. Boot
D. System
7. I clicked "Install zip from sd card"
8. I clicked "asopCM7-VM670-20110601-signed.zip"
9. It would begin, but then say something failed, and abort. I don't remember what failed. I will try again if it is necessary to know.
10. I clicked "power off"
11. I hit volume down, home, power to boot back up when I remembered I had no operating system.
12. I restored using my nandroid backup.
13. I came here to post this!

Just some extra info: I am using the same ROM that my phone came with, and I am definitely rooted.

Any advice?

Some ROMS are not compatible with the newer version of ClockworkMod Recovery. Try the following steps and see if the problem is resolved.

1. Open Rom Manager
2. Click on All ClockworkMod Recoveries.
3. Mark 2.5.0.7
4. Reboot into recovery and try flashing the rom again following your steps above exactly as listed.

I hope this works for you.

Okay, I will try these things that are suggested. Also, is there any way that I can bring all of my current apps over to the new ROM? Also, when I click on All ClockworkMod Recoveries, it says "No Legacy Recoveries Found".

I am not sure why it says no legacy recoveries found.. Might be because I am using the paid version and not the free one. You can also do a search on google for version 2.5.0.7 and use it that way. As far as backing up your apps and settings you can use Titanium Backup which is available in the market. It will back up installed apps and settings then restore them on the new rom.

That version of cwm doesn't work, you need to manually flash aosp's version of the recovery

fixyo****.rar
1. Download this
2. UnRAR it to your SD card and rename 'xionia_cwma_12518.4_virgin' to 'vrecovery' (sorry, I forgot to when i packaged it)
3. Boot into the recovery
4. Flash 'Flash_recovery.zip'
5. Reboot into recovery again
6. Wipe everything
6. Flash aospCMod
7. Flash gapps
8. Reboot

Hmmm, it seems like my version of ClockworkMod just doesn't want to flash anything. I copied the file that edgar.nalchad posted to the root of my SD card, went into recovery mode, clicked on install zip from sd card, clicked the zip, and it said:

-- Installing: /sdcard/recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.7-bravo-zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
E:Error in /sdcard/recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.7-bravo-zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.

I think this is exactly what it said when I went to flash over AOSP, just obviously with the different file names. Now this is just getting annoying!

Try the xionia cw recovery, might be an issue with scripting.

Ok, but how can I flash over an xionia cw recovery, when my current recovery wont flash anything?

Well you don't flash a recovery how you flash a rom

Are you familiar with adb yet? There's easier options, but if your recovery won't flash then they won't help you right now.

Okay, I got the newest xionia recovery up and running, will try flashing over the new ROM tomorrow. Also, when I use TitaniumBackup, should I back up everything, or just apps that I want to keep for the next rom?

For example, do I need to back up things like "com.lge. LgHiddenMenu 2.2.1", and "[VOICEMAIL] Dialer 2.2.1", and other apps of the like, or are all of those nececcary things included in CM7?

Please people, use the recomended recovery with the ROM, aospCWMod-VM670-20110531.img is linked on the first post of the aospCM7 thread.

I'll never understand why people use recoveries that aren't recommended by the dev.

aosp's rom flashes fine with xionia clockwork.

The recovery, from the op, mentions "bravo". I'm wanting to assume that you installed the recovery of another device.. how you were able to boot into it baffled me.

That is your recovery begging you to not brick the phone. Use only Optimus V recoveries, roms, and kernels.

Yes I realized that wasn't the correct recovery for my phone, and got rid of it. I was never able to boot into it. The recovery I am currently using is the one that I downloaded straight from this post. It is Xionia CWMA v1.2518.6. I flashed it over using adb, and it runs fine. Which recovery should I use to flash over AOSP? Should I re-try the one that wasn't working again, or try it out whit the xionia kernal?
