What were some of the, obviously wrong, answers you got from CS?

During the maddening process to get my shipping information I was told multiple reasons why retail stores got theirs before Google Play Store customers. In this thread, just for fun, lets talk about some of the dumbest excuses given.

I will start with:
If you buy it through a retail store and something happens to the device you have to get technical help through that store. Since you bought it through the Play Store you can get help from us directly (woo hoo :sarcasm:).

Reason this is wrong info:
Once you are out of the return period for the store, and if the issue you run into isn't covered by the store (like a cracked screen). You are referred to Google.

Also Asus is handling the screen warranty so that's another back up.

I still insist those who claim that Gamestop broke the street date are either lying or they got bad info. Everyone started selling them.

The worst I got was trying to call them with a defective unit and couldn't get through. Either there are a lot of defects or calls from people wanting tracking info went to the same call center.

For the love of god people, stop calling them. They can't magically speed up time.

The CS rep actually told me to try and pick one up at a store and just refuse the shipment for a full refund. He straight up admitted that this launch is FUBAR.

Let me add that I'm not dwelling on the wrongs. We've all been a little on edge. Let's just be happy we are getting them soon.:)

I hope Google learns from this experience. Now they'll be getting a whole flood or refused shipments. And then they'll have irate customers demanding that credit card refunds get processed properly. etc.

I didn't want to get screwed out of $22 for nothing. So I picked up one at Staples this morning. Saved shipping costs and even with the gas to drive there, I still saved $15. I'm on the phone to cancel right now. If they don't let me, they can handle a refused shipment.
