I am a MS person moving from Windows phone to Android. My first choice of email client is the outlook app but I am afraid that I would miss integrations between mail, calendar, contacts etc. and any Google android magic? I have an dormant Gmail account I can resurrect easily if required.

Or your could use the email app "Nine", it's on the Google play store. It isn't free ($9.99) but it's a really good email client app for all your email accounts, including Outlook and exchange accounts.

You might want to consider TypeMail. Has all the features you need. All I use! I did purchase the pro version however. Available @ the Google play store.

I just recently switched to Android from IOS and I use and Outlook.com email account. The outlook app has at least two major shortcomings -- can't search emails on line (only ones stored on phone) and one can't add or edit contacts in the "people" section of the outlook app.

I checked out Nine, and was much more impressed. The stock android app is working for me, but if I were going to go third party I would choose nine.

Correct me of I'm wrong, but the Outlook App allows for integration between contacts and Calender's.. I was able to connect it to my Google calendar and contacts with no issues.
