What will it take to get you interested in a Pixel 4/4XL?

My personal experience of Samsung phones’ autofocus is that it’s really fast and can take great snapshots of moving objects even indoors. However, the amount of users saying that the Pixel 3 is superior leads me to believe that the point and shoot abilities of the Pixel 3 phones are even better.

I don’t believe it’s a case of Samsung’s indoor photography of moving objects is poor...rather one of the Pixel 3’s being really good.

Yeah, I think that's certainly likely.

Maybe it'll be 6.3"? Or will they make it an even half and make it 6.5"... Hmm...

One can dream, Lol. When the rumors were running around that the 3XL was going to be 6.7" I was elated and anxious. I have large hands and love large screen phones. I think ballpark 6.7 to 6.8" or so will become the most reasonable size to stop before you size yourself out of the phone market if you will. Of course this is all bezel dependent as well.

IMO, If Google is going to continue the trend of a premier smaller option which they have over all 3 generations it makes no sense to maintain the same size for the Large design. Granted there was a time it was not only size people sought on the large version, It was also higher end or additional features. With the addition of the 3a it kind of becomes a moot point as that phone is quite loaded.

Just my 2 cents worth. Hope everyone is well and ready for the long weekend!

This is exactly true. I have the Note 9 and Pixel 2 XL, and this is very true. The Note 9 camera is actually very very good in just about all situations.

The prominent Samsung leaker Ice Universe (he has a solid track record of being right) said that Samsung fans who want the best camera should skip the Note 10 and wait for the S11...

...makes me think the S11 is gonna be pretty advanced in terms of new camera hardware.

Nah man. Forget the S11 and go with the Note 12. That camera will be a beast! [/sarcasm]

In other words, there's always something better sound the corner.

True...but given his track record I’m inclined to believe that there will be major camera upgrades with the S11. Although even before this ‘leak’ I was expecting a major camera upgrade on the S11 anyway.

I don’t think the Note 11’s camera will be much different from the S11 though.

You do raise a valid point. It's good to have models that have some kind of differentiations. I like that the 3a is still pretty flagship-esque. But at the same time, you do get some extras with the XL model.

The latest leak regarding the camera is pretty disappointing. I was always hoping the second rear camera was a wide-angle lens but after the random tweet about a 20x hybrid zoomed photo, I thought maybe it would match or exceed the 5x optical zoom that the Huawei P30 Pro has. That would have been exciting. Nope. Turns out all it is is a 2x optical zoom like what the iPhone 7 got three years ago. Super Res Zoom already does 1.5x nicely, so to add another lens just for .5x better zoom seems like a waste. Maybe there's more to it, but as of now, the rear camera system doesn't "up the ante" at all.

What will it take to get me interested in the Pixel 4? The fact that it's a Pixel! Lol.

So far the leaks have me excited, and I'm glad to see that secure Face Unlock will be a feature if it's not going to have the traditional fingerprint reader on the back. I don't like in screen fingerprint readers.

I'm just really hoping that the second camera is an ultra-wide angle lens rather than a telephoto lens. I find wide angle way more useful than telephoto.

Apparently with the Pixel 4 Google’s abandoning the dual tone design :(

I hope the coloured power button will stay.

To me this looks like yet another sign of Google being less fun.

The 3a line is phenomenal for that. A super impressive camera and processor for a great deal.
Yep people have been criticizing Google for the Pixel prices and once they introduced the 3a line it shut everyone. They are the best value in terms of smartphones. Great battery life, great camera and performance. Monthly security updates, immediate platform updates. They hit it out of the park with the 3a series. If I didn't have the phone addiction problem, I have zero problems carrying it as my main phone

the 3a line is good but it would be great to have high end like with the nexus phones, Also I just don't like then look of pixels

Nexus phones were also not high end. By the time Nexus 6p was released prices for Nexus 6p had already creeped up to flagship prices at that time. Probably Nexus 5 and couple of other Nexus were priced well but they had their own set of compromises. So no Nexus was not high end.

either you never hand nexus phone or don't know the difference, When nexus phones started coming out the had the most update to date stuff like the nexus 4 which had snapdragon s4 pro which was the fastest at that time yet you think different

Lol I have pretty much every phone that's released from the last 10 years leave alone Nexus

I've had a pile of phone.
They never got the latest update.
Now I have the pixel.
It gets the latest updates.
I don't be see the advantage.
There is nothing on my phone for anybody to steal if they hacked it.
So what does the latest update do for me.
Absolute nothing.
When I go outside to take a picture, I can't even see my screen

And for me to get a 4 and get rid of my 3.
Absolute best waste of money.
