This would be my first smartphone ever, upgrading from my LG enV I'm not counting my heavily locked-down corporate BlackBerry Bold 9000 as a smartphone because it doesn't do crap except sync with Microsoft Exchange and down a few web pages with its craptastic web browser. I might have to put away my new toy for a while if I get this on Valentine's Day and pay attention to my wife LOL

5. Testing Google Voice integration to decide if I want to port my old number to GV or to Verizon.

I need to test this out as well. Free text messaging via Google voice is something I can't pass on so I'll probably just port my number to GV and get a new Verizon number.

My girlfriend ported her ATT number to gvoice for use on her dinc. Only thing she doesn't like about it is she can't send MMS to her mom.

I have been using gvoice number as my primary for a while and it's great. I don't know anyone that I couldn't just send a link to imgur or facebook for any photos I take.

Yeah MMS isn't a big deal to me at all and I completely forgot about having voicemails online, so I guess I'll go ahead and port my number to GV. Thanks for the info!

First thing I wanted to do with my phone is fix the contacts.. My blackberry tour contacts list is screwed up. I used verizon's skype mobile and now i have like 500 repeats of skype numbers on my list. When verizon transfers the contacts.. is it possible for them to delete all the skype numbers and just transfer the rest?

Well, I had an EVO for about a week, and I've been chasing it ever since. I bought Beautiful Widgets to get that Sense-like clock and weather, and had my Launcher Pro set up like Sense with the FB widget and so forth. I just swapped my Frustrate for an Incredible a few days ago, so I'm already getting a feel for how I want my screens set up. Hopefully root is within a week or so so I can get my TiBu to work and install all my apps. THEN, since this will be my phone for a year or two, I will clean up some of my contacts and calendars, and put my ebooks on it (Reading on the EVO was fine... not so much on the Fascinate or the Dinc). Once I have the essentials covered, then I will test the still and video cameras, and look to do a video chat, as well as running the phone through it's paces.

Probably just go through sense 2.0 as I've never owned a phone with one (unless you count the Touch from Sprint).
