What will you do first when you get your Thunderbolt?

Bahahaha.

Akira, I feel for you. I had a Storm 1 for a good amount of time, and the best thing I ever did with it was get rid of it!

I am pumped for the Thunderbolt... my first step will be to play with the device completely stock with Sense. I will test the hardware and software and make sure everything looks right.

I will then move on to the necessities (rooting)... I am assuming this will be possible within the first week. :) I mean it is an HTC device. C'mon! ;)

Hopefully CM7 will be ported to the TB ASAP and I will load that.

At some point I will also need to transfer all of my apps from my Nexus One to this device. I am honestly not sure the best way to do this. :( There are multiple backup utilities... but yeah!

I too had a storm 1. I must admit, it had problems, but i did, and still do, think the click screen is a great idea.

Just use Titanium backup of course!

Soo.. I really hope this gets rooted, and the bootloader is accessable ASAP because I put the new CM7 gingerbread nightly build on my OG Droid today... and I don't think I can go back to 2.2... *facepalm

I shouldn't have done that.

Haha I did that too and I'm loving it!!

I plan on:

5. Testing Google Voice integration to decide if I want to port my old number to GV or to Verizon.
4. Test multi-exchange account syncing - I expect it works great with mail, but how does it work with multi-exchange account contacts and calendar?
3. Test video calling. Integrated skype may not ship with it, but I can install skype or another app to test it.
2. Test the speakerphone for calling and music/video playback.

...and...

1. See if it really can't use the kickstand and charge at the same time!

Also a Storm 1 User and looking forward to moving into the new decade. I really have liked the Storm, but it was my first ever smart phone and I have no experience with anything else. Given the rants it gets, I'm looking forward to a device folks actually like to see what I have been missing.

which kernel are you using? I used the chevyNo1 (froyo) low 1.1ghz. It's working great on gingerbread!

I can't even believe this is a nightly build... It's totally stable!

Anyways, I need some of this CM7 goodness on my TBolt asap for sure...

EDIT* I also loaded up the medium voltage chevy 1.25 to run a few benchmarks, I got 1249 on quadrant, then I got 1199 with the 1.1ghz.

I'm actually using the stock kernel from the nightly build and it's very stable haven't messed with any of the other kernels, perhaps I should.

So far it's been stable for me although it has been kind of sluggish when I get a few processes running.

I definitely agree will have to root my TBolt asap for CM7! :D

First thing I want to do is video chat with someone. Then use that big ol' 4.3" screen to dive into some youtube!

I see myself charging it 3 times a day for the first week or so, putting it through it's paces. I'm determined to make the email work efficiently for me, be it native or via touchdown, K9, etc.

Spending most of the time noting what I'm doing, how it works, etc. for possible work users.

I think it'll be rooted after a good while, but...doesn't everybody say that at first? :)

I'm actually excited for two things, iPhone 4 for my girlfriend and TB for me...:) Best of both worlds. I can use both and get the pros/cons for them as well!!
